You think we are confused?

1. Blueticks pheasant hunting. Had a nice locate when the bird was dead.

2. Can I train a redbone coonhound to bird hunt?
If anyone out there has experience with this breed of dog, can you please tell me more information on them? I am currently looking for a dog, but cannot decide if this is the right breed for me. I am wanting to train one for bird hunting, but i seem to be hooked on the hounds. Please help!

3. Redbone for Ducks. Is that barking considered babbling.

Bottom line if you have a dog, enjoy it.

Heck after the post you wrote yesterday I went out and CULLED all 4 of my hounds. I knew I should have waited a day.

Best advice ever. Not every dog will love what you want it to do, but most will try their best at it to please you.

CRAZY COONHOUNDS

Guy I used to hunt with had an English male (son of bluegrass Amos) who would pheasant hunt. Open trailed the dang things 'til they flushed, pretty much only chased roosters and would do a decent job of retrieving if he saw it go down. Still makes me chuckle every time I think about it.
