Dogs tattooed
Is there anywhere that tattoos on dogs are documented. I have came across a grade dog with tattoos in his ears. This leads me to believe that at one time he was registered. Any advice in backtracking with this tattoo.
The tattoo isn't a UKC number is it? A prefix letter followed by 6 numbers? That's what I always recommend doing. If it is I can look it up for ya.

Thanks but it's not a Ukc #. The dog, I believe, came from SC. He's a Black and Tan and I think the tat starts with FRJ then a number.
Here (PA) if u wanted a lifetime license, the courthouse assignged u a #. The first 2 #s were the CountyID # the next #s were the license in numerical sequence. When r dog was stolen, the guy had her tattooed with his name so when we got her back I asked about using it at the courthouse and it was ok. It was on her paperwork so if u might ask a county treasurer or whoever u get dog license from.
Is it a black dog? What are the 1st two letters?

Yes. He's black. And I believe the tattoo is FRJ 761 but not 100% on that.
Not one of mine, Mine start with WP and WJ.
