How do your figure out what your going to call your dog?

Do you have a Wipeout Hound, a Harry Hound, a Sunrise Hound, Sackett JR. dog, Rat Attack dog, Clover dog, Lipper dog, skuna river dog or just a dog.

First of all I don't even think most people can even identify a bloodline. Before you say "what the heck". Let me explain!
Take a look at any pedigree you have on your dog. If you see Stylish Harry there you might call it a Harry dog. If you see a Wipeout dog there you might call it a Wipeout dog. Many dogs are called a certain dog, Harry for example if the Sire or Grand Sire was Stylish Harry. Turn the pedigree around and put the dams dogs on top and the sires dogs on the bottom. What would you identify your dog with?
I think another tool should be designed by one of our computer experts to really identify what linage we should identify our dogs with. No I am not talking about a breeding coefficient which gives us the probability of inheriting two copies of the same allele. I am talking about something that when you put in the ancestors names you would get out a dogs name that represents the background of your dog, for example Harry.

Breeding coefficient is really not what I am talking about here. I am talking about a way to generally identify a dog more accurately than we do now. Say your breed a dog to bone or bone is the grandfather. All that is said is you have a bone dog. I guess you could say that but there are 14 other dogs in three generation pedigree you say influenced your dog also.

I use what ever comes to mind! not what there ped is/or names!!I once had one I called Lucifer he is still in my bloodlines and I sure don't use that to much!!name fit him!!lol

I almost named my current young dog Lonesome Dove because she was the first born (by about 2 hours) in the living room while I was watching that old DVD. I decided against it because I was afraid I'd jinx her and she'd be a me too dog. The way she's going lonesome dove would have been fine. I've heard the first one out is the leader and the ones after that are metooing, I shouldn't have been scared.
