Red light for coon

Was wanting to know if the red light was the best at spotting coons eyes. Have not tried any other colors. I know there are a lot of other colors and are there really any difference in them.

Works best

For me, the possum even look at it.

Red Light.....

This is my personal opinion ......
I don't think it makes a coon look, if they look it's because they are going to look whether it's a white, red, blue, green, Amber, purple, pink, etc.,
When they do look you are able to see the eyes a lot better.....it's like Brake Lights in a tree.

I have had good luck with the red light. But I prefer to use the amber color. For me personally their eyes are easier to spot when the amber hits them.

The red light has made a big difference for me. I think red is far better for getting them to look than yellow or white and green is completely useless although green is my choice for a walking light when bugs are out.

red

Red certainly works best for me for seeing eyes. Was messing around with a coon the other night.First spoted it with white walking light, turned on red, kept looking, turned on green ,looked away instantly, back to white than red looked, back to green ,again instantly looked away. For me green and blue are worthless.

I've been using one for a week now and now see a big difference in coon found.

Red

works fantastic for my son and I. Used amber for years with little success.. Red has made a mountain of a difference for us. I use the Moonshiner Revenuer HO and my son the Xtreme... both scalding bright and the red modules get the job done !!

red

I just could not see eyes with just a white led...bought a light with a red mod and it's so much nicer

They look at anything if they are going to look.

Red

Sounds like red is the best choice

Red light for coon eyes

Red is by far the best for finding coon eyes... But nothing or no color will compare to the old carbide lights of 50 years ago when it comes to finding a coons eye...You could not even see the light in the tree but a coon eye would sparkle like a diamond...With that being said I will say it is possible the dogs I was hunting back then might have been a little more accurate than the ones that are in my pen today...

Animals can't see red or amber lights. They don't know your shining a light on them so they look easier.

A carbide light might burn the woods up in the Delta as dry as it is now!!! My dad used one for years to walk with, he was always fooling with it. When he finally got a wheat light, the carbide light was put away for good.

Very true....I've found that going red the last 50 yards to the tree really makes a big difference

I prefer amber , it's easier for me than looking with the red

Red

I've found red is best. Also try red on a real low setting. So low you can't even see the light shining in the tree. The tree will be black and the red glowing eyes is all you will see. Works best with a good squaller.
