Earl Hill's Ark. Blue. This dog had a huge impact on the bluetick breed, especially the Smokey River lines, and a lot of guys I've talked to have never even heard of him.

He reproduced: Smokey River Sage, Smokey River Blue Gal, Fannie II, Majesty, and Kit. He also reproduced James Riley's Edisto River Blue Sail, and Smokey River Blue Bart. He produced Hickerson's Queen, which was the dam of Gr. NT. Ch. Hammons Smokey River Spot. His pups made bluetick history.

Preacher

there have been many overlooked, hind sight is always 20/20... Had we had semen storage from some of these great reproducers of yesteryear to occasionally re-introduce when we see what they were so great at throwing starting to slip a bit how much more they could have contributed.

I am one who loves the blood of some of those older hounds that I hunted with that were every bit as good as we have today.. Sure today we have definite improvement in younger hounds doing some fantastic work in the woods. trainability, less trash problems, etc. but give me one more outta Diamond Jim, Old Hussler, Bragg's Dodger, Morris' Mike, Hammer II and I'd be a fat and happy grey haired Bluetick Man fer sure !!!! LOL...

Yes that's John! His mother was out of Edisto River Sail.
It was good to meet you too! We'll make more time to sit and visit next trip!
