Need a Helping hand from Nebraska
Myself and my wife would like to come to Nebraska to deer hunt.. looking at the Natl.Forest around Halsey.. looking for a bunkhouse or cabin.. but looks like the nearest hotel is Ainsworth.. hows the deer look?? " not looking to shoot does".... looking to hunt the Nov. 12 th opener and then returning to Wisconsin the 17th or 18th.. also from what I can make out on the Nebraska website..that is the Calamus West area.. should be 216 for the tag.. plus 20 for a habitat stamp... which isn't the worst.. I contacted your dnr but the guy that called me back just wanted to talk about grouse.. and how I should come down bird hunting...to scout it out... but I didn't want to tell him that I'm really not into bird hunting since I lost my birddog..and I would rather tree it!! or bay it up!! Thanks for your time that will be with the rifle also "don't know if there are muzzleloader or bow only units"
Some of you Nebraska guys might want to try running bear.. Here is your chance .. no class B required 0 cost.. I have the baits and ground to run... This is what you would need!!! time off, gas money here and while you hunt and back home.. stay by me.. and bring what you want to eat and drink.... the training season is July 1 to the second to the last weekend in August ..the last weekend I do the Learn to hunt.. it is a busy weekend !! so I think we could get something to work before that... plus a possible chance to come back during kill season.. but gentlemen kill season isn't the time to be trying dogs out.. just want to put that out there right away... Thanks again
