Rule Change Vote

When will they announce the results? Will they give us a breakdown or was this a secret ballot? I heard from a very unreliable source that the tree countdown vote was a tie. Will a UKC Rep cast a tiebreaker vote? Can we ask for a recount?

I think it takes 4 yes votes to pass. How do you get a tie with 7 breed associations?

No, they don't have a breed association.

there is a beginning to every ending , but the ending is never a beginning , I enjoyed myself being a part of this rule change discussion , and not knowing the results Im 75% sure none of them passed

but 25% of me hopes the squalling rule does , with a 2 minute delay

vote

I'm sure they will announce them tomorrow. Never figured out why it took so long to count 7 ballots, but that's ok because after a long week down there, I'm sure they were ready for a couples days off. Take care, Ron.

I wanna know which people do the voting and their ages and see how long it's been since they have hunted a hunt.

10 of them 50 plus , 2 were 40 plus , and 2 maybe 30's

have no clue on how long anyone has been a cooner except for myself ,, but there was a lot of experience in the room

Being a cooner and being in today's comp world is different though. If a man hasn't been in a hunt in 5,10,15,20 yrs plus. They have no business deciding for everyone else.

Im sure it takes awhile to dicuss matters like these. Bein in several hunt clubs its amazin how long meetings wit the simplest votes take so long. Its amazin how people think everythings like a light switch. Be done and voted yesterday. But are the same people that dont volunteer at any events and meetings. And refuse to help. But im sure its not just a simple pass and fail. U have to come up wit possible amendments for each rule. And vote on again. Tweak rules to satisfy a certain group etc. I personally wouldnt mind not gettin rid of the min at every drop. Maybe shortenin it. My dog doesnt do it but i see dogs all the time do it. Not babblin. Just excited to be cut.

These people are heads of theyre breed organizations. That got voted in by theyre members. The ones that put the time in. Earn the respect of theyre members. They were involved in the past now and will be in the future. Theyve earned theyre place and was trusted to vote on such things. They make theyre decisions based off of what ukc was in the past and where it needs improvin. Not for theyre own personal gains and trusted with this responsibility. Let them do as they feel. Theyre the most qualified to do so. We put them there.

Darrell Eads have you ever been in a hunt in in the last 20 years ? Do you have any experience or training ? Which school did you go to ? How far did you take your competition education ?

There needs to be a different process for changing nite hunt rules. The voice of the hunters that it affects is not represented by the current system. Esp considering the proposals were just put out a short time ago so its not like the breed reps have had a chance to get out around and see what the hunters want. And it should be about what the hunters want as well as serious consideration for what's best for the future of our dogs because these rule changes directly affect the type of dog we're gonna be looking at in the future. I believe it should take more then one person from each breed to make those decisions.

Donnie I know they gonna say. Well this is how it's always been done lol I'm with you. Plus I figure 80% of coonhunters out their that support UKC ain't even a member of any breed association. May be higher than 80%.

If u dont care enough to be a part of assoc then u prolly dont care bout the future of coon huntin and theyre breeds. So ud most likely be in it for yourself and ur line

That's not true at all. Couldn't be further from the truth. Most reason people join a breed association is for the huge butt trophies at bigger hunts and that's a fact.

rule change

Personally, I'm waiting to see how #1 turns out!!! Membership voted At BBOA Days to turn in change for the count down, so thought sure we would vote for it. At the meeting Sat. to discuss it before turning in our ballot, there were about 30 members present to discuss how we should vote. About 25 'old guard' UKC hunters & 5 that wanted the change, so you know how that vote went!!! I'm almost 70, but wanted the change.

I'm still not beleiving we turned in rule change proposal & then voted against it after voting took place at AO meeting. Take care, Ron

Whatever u need to tell urself. Im a member of 2. Have never won big triphies. And most people i socialize with havent either. But were always doin what we can to help. To provide opportunities for people to have fun and better the breed. Which is what it should be about. Ul see them people sittin at booths socializin. Pushin pencils, organizin, makin sure stuff works out. Not sittin at home criticizin people who do all the work.

I'm just saying local hunters by the thousands are not breed memebers. I know that for a fact. You think your a big man because your part of 3 clubs? Lol. That's funny. You brag about it enough.

Its 2 and im not braggin. Im simply statin theres to many people with a big mouth that think they can run somethin but are too lazy to do anythin about it. Theyd rather criticize and look down theyre nose at people that volunteer to better somethin bigger than themselves. Its easier to sit at home and complain about somethin online hopin u win a argument to fit urself. And im talkin bout the same thousand of people you are talkin bout. Im just tryin to do my part. Cause i can open my eyes and see its on a downward spiral. The few doin everythin for the coon world need help. Theyre a generation of people that came from workin for somethin. And theyre either dyin off or to old to keep up with nay sayers. No offense older people.

Be nice for hunters to someday vote on the rules that effect them. Ukc and others put up polls for voting and those in favor of a countdown doubled those that didn't want it, lets see if the breed reps voted in by a small % of hunters and Ukc paid attention to what the majority wanted or not..
