Dare I hope?

Immediately following the Republican Convention, after watching Pence confirm what I thought he was, then watching Trump give his speech, I actually had a bit of optimism.

Then in the next 2 weeks I watched what looked like a 3 yr old that didn't know any better destroy the vehicle that was setting in his driveway that could take him where he needed to go. Pouring juice down the heater ducts and playground sand in the gas tank, oblivious to the results.

Now in the last 2 weeks he's not given a speech that I'm aware of that is off script. Reads it all. Today he went to Mexico and actually displayed himself as still strong, but measured and thoughtful. Somebody you were not embarrassed of.

I don't believe this is the day to day Trump, but rather a result of behind the scenes coaching. BUT, if he's willing to listen to people, learn, and make common sense changes when something involving this country is not working, that's more than you can ever say about our current narcissistic leader.

Dare I hope??

Trump wasn't my first choice, but I see him as someone that doesn't want to look bad. I believe he will surround himself with TOP advisors. I believe if he gets elected he will make a better president then most people think. What I have been seeing is when he says anything the Media changes what he said and then convinces people that he really said something else. At least this is what I have been seeing.
I believe if Hillary gets in the dems. will hold the presidency for the next 8 to 12 years leading to Socialism, we aren't that far away now.

I thought he said in Mexico today pretty much what he's been saying since day one. That was my take on it. All but getting them to pay for the wall. He said they didn't discuss that. Seems as if Mexico is for a wall to. So build that bad boy.

Well if you think he sounded the same on day one as he did yesterday standing behind a podium next to the President of Mexico, then you either were not paying attention on day one, or now.

This country has never been led by someone who sounds like the guy at the end of a bar after his 5th beer shouting out insults.

Yesterday he sounded NOTHING like that. Reserved, respectful, giving credit and respect to someone he is at odds with, and repeated statements of a willingness to work together to get the end goal accomplished. Far from the hard nosed, my way or the highway rhetoric that the clapping seals all get behind at the rallies.

I'm talking policies. Ol mean mean Trump said what he's been saying. The niceness never crossed my mind. I don't care how he sounds.

Well how he sounds makes all the difference in the world. His current rhetoric is really no different than at least a dozen of the candidates he ran against. We have a problem and need to fix it, and a wall is part of that fix. Many of them said it. Way different than shouting throw the bums out.

I guess the shouting helped folks here him because he beat all those others. Your first choice included.

Wont help him now...if he stands a chance he's gonna have to act like most of the ones he ridiculed. He repeatedly called Jeb Bush "very weak" on immigration because he didn't want to break up existing families that had children born as American citizens.

Trumps new policy is to immediately get rid of criminal illegal aliens, the rest is a process. Breaking up families with children that are American citizens, will never happen, I'll bet on it.

His idea in his 10 pt plan of using air support along the border wall......Rick Perry.

His E-verify system so we can track people and know when they've overstayed their visa.....Marco Rubio.

Right on. You either for him or against him. If tour for him. I don't see why they keep posting negatives. Now I can see why TomPurdy does. He loves Hillary and blue dogs. Have to look over him

I'm with ya. I said before that the people (including myself) that struggle with supporting Trump, it's not about the who, but the what. I don't care at this point that Trump's the nominee and my first pick isn't. We've all moved on from that. I just need somebody I can support. As long as he acts like a normal human being and keeps making it about policies and not about himself or who he's mad at this week, it will go a long ways with me when compared to the alternative.
