Boots

What are your alls thoughts on the best boots out there? I have worn danners for years, elk hunters in summer, and Canadians in the winter. Canadians still maintain great quality, Elkhunter style have really gone down hill. Im ready for a change in a warm weather boot and possibly all together.

I agree with you as I wore Danner boots for 30 years when hunting out west and guiding for elk in rugged terrain. Last year at the Shot Show (World Shooting and Hunting Trade Show) in Las Vegas, I decided to try on every hunting boot from all the big name companies as I do not have a boot sponsor (and still don't). Of over ten brand names, I went to the Lowa booth and tried on several different models. I was most impressed and purchased two pair, one for me and one for my son, Steve who runs the camera for me.
They are the most comfortable and toughest made boot that I have owned. They are a little heavier but then they give me so much more support than anything else I tried.
By the way, they are still not a sponsor.
Adios,
gary

Kenetrek hands down. Expensive but you guides wearing them so you know they last. Love mine.

Kenetrek is a very nice boot and I purchased two pair for my sons but they did not last as long as I felt that they should have. Very comfortable.

Gary

Meindl

I really like Meindl Boots. They do great when hunting in the mountains. The support they provide are sure nice when traversing steep and rough terrain. They aren't cheap, but they are worth every penny.

For hunting on flat ground though, I would probably use something with more give though.
