a country divided

God forbid, but if this race issue would lead to a civil war, which side would our government be on?

The current government? I think you know the answer to that question. Regardless of who was being offensive, and who was being defensive.

One only need to look at the policies, and and enabling rhetoric, regarding people rioting, looting, and burning down businesses in Ferguson and Baltimore before facts of the cases were even determined to understand the government we're dealing with.

I'm sure they wont show it but if there is any dancing in the streets going on over this, it will be war.

Obama gonna blame the guns. I already saw they were called out to a guy walking down the rd with an "assault" rifle. Was no talking. Just shooting. I for one am putting a bigger gun in my truck. Something that will reach out their and do something.

I'm here in LA. Baton Rouge, to be exact,
I understand people won't to have there guns big ones or small, this is my opinion in this state and many others if u can tote your guns on u at any time u must not have been to many places where it's a lot of people, open carry at a football game tailgating or mardi Gras, just think about open carry at big function and u have wepons on so many people with your family with u and some people get into a argument and they pull their guss a bullet has no name and just cause you am it at your target don't mean u will hit the target, and then law enforcement has more pressure on them to make a decision, and the out come may not be in your favor. I'm just speaking cause I live in the city where it's so much go on in bigger city than others, where a lot of people give there opinion and don't care about city life but it's a city every where. God bless.

Not a race war it's a people vs, the police when the people don't get justice, when people get mistreated by police and the public finds out and no justice comes to the community for the people across the u.s , this is y this stuff happens, people see a lot of this and it don't get to the public until people are getting kill, It's a lot of bad people out here that police has to be cautious for there self , and protect themselves , and also handle each situation different, police needs to go back to two officer in a car and be safer, god watch over us all. God bless! !.

It is a sad state of affairs when their are two "sides" and you have to ask that question. Especially when you are questioning if it is really "our government". I guess that Trump is right in that we need a new leader who can unify us. But can either one of our two current candidates do that? I surely hope we get a President who can. The one that we have now isn't doing a very good job of it.

Private venues can choose to say no guns. Same as they can choose to say no alcohol on the premises, or no smoking, etc.

But as far as me and neighbor Joe right to bear arms if we choose when we are out and about, that right and law should not be banned even temporarily.

How about we just ban the right of Freedom Of Assembly? After all it's the crowds that are creating all the problems in a lot of these instances, so even if they're peaceful lets just be pro-active and temporarily ban 1 of the Bill Of Rights ahead of time.

Or how about a Woman's right to vote? I'd like to get rid of that right, just temporarily. Just until say like December until after the election, that way we would be sure Hillary couldn't win. After all it would be for the good of the public and the country. Really, what would be the harm in that?

You see the danger of willingly giving up 1 of your rights and letting Marshall law take over? I understand what you're saying, but that is a mighty slippery slope you're pondering in my belief.

Yes I do , and I understand, I also no that a lot of people give up there rights everyday just to fit in today social world just to make the day. People brakes laws everyday those with power and those that don't have any power just to get by trying to make things better. And some don't care, but like the saying goes good suffer from bad things but we overcome it all. Some people won't get it until it hit close to home, I went through something and a old lady said to me, When it rain it falls on more than one House. God bless.

We are certainly oppressed by laws and regulations both privately and in business, but so far I don't see anybody giving up their private Constitutional rights.

The Bill Of Rights are the first 10 Amendments of the Constitution. Been in place since 1791. So far the laws of the land and the courts will back them up if pressed. Who knows in the future. The USA and the world is changing fast.

Oh my goodness, it sounds to me like the police are already fighting a civil war. The guy that murdered the policemen in Baton Rouge posted a video on the interweb saying that he was a soldier and was at war with the police. Helter Skelter is almost here. Charlie Manson was way ahead of his time.

If two people get into an argument and both are legally armed and both know it, they argue a lot, they call each other names and then walk away. They are each restrained by mutually assured deterrence. OTOH, if one is an armed criminal there could be serious trouble but at least both are armed. If every one at the super bowl is armed and a fool stands up and starts shooting, someone will shoot him real quick. That's the beauty of the great equalizer.

Is it really a "race" war? Or does it just seem that way. We know whose side the Police are on. They are on the side of law and order. Isn't it really a war between the Police and the criminals? The only problem is that an overwhelming percentage of the criminals are black. So it appears to be a race war. Is our government backing a bunch of thugs or the law abiding citizens?
If you think that our present government is backing you then by all means cast your vote for Hillary. That is where her support is coming from. But if you think that our present government is not backing or representing you, then it is time for a change.

Sleepyblues that's what I don't understand you say people are tired of injustices but in Baton Rouge the guy was a felon with a gun that wouldn't comply. I'm tired of criminals not complying with the law. That cost taxpayers millions of dollars for trials and time lost from doing their job. Not to mention riot control for all the protesting for criminals.

Well to play devils advocate both shooters in Dallas and Baton Rouge demanded and received trial by combat. They did not attack unarmed combatants.

The problems with our country is about a heart problem and a culture problem. Regardless of race or anything else. Lack of God in the heart and lack of respect and love and common sense. No raising whatsoever. No father figure.

No, they didn't attack unarmed victims, the AMBUSHED them. There is a difference. That is premeditated murder.

Yep.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 07-24-2016 04:18 PM:

So, I guess that is not a war. It is just a couple of psychotic killers ambushing and murdering policemen. That sure isn't what the news media is reporting.

But then can't the same thing be said for most of the so called "terrorists"? They are just psychotic killers looking for an excuse to murder someone and get a lot of attention? I wonder how many of them actually believe in the Islamic Radical views and how many just want to kill someone. When you look at their background, they drink alcohol and commit adultery which are major sins in the Islamic religion.

That is a pretty accurate definition of an ambush and the victims where armed.

Again not saying it is right or wrong just looking at it through a tactical lens. Objectively without any emotions involved.

I don't believe this country is divided by race, or political party! I think it's divided by conservatives and liberals. Not all Democrats are liberal, and not all Republicans are conservative.
