Tight Mouthed Male Finished Dog
If your looking for a dog that can tree coons on the outside and in quick order by himself this dog is for you!!
I raised him from a puppy and can tell you anything about him.
This hound has been an absolute joy to take to the woods so here is a little break down on how he operates:
He will tree coons as he comes to them.
He is more of a circle hunter, hunts the woods you drop him in, very good patch woods hunter. If he gets on a track he will go the distance needed to tree it.
He is a hard tree dog who will not pull once treed.
He has an awesome handle there is no need for a leash
Very nice locate and roll over into a hard chop on the tree.
More accurate when hunted alone he will honor another dog almost always if they pull up short. I've put him in two hunts and he is not a good strike dog but a first to tree style dog.
He is completely straight no junk.
He will layup coons that have been sound asleep with style. He will work cold and hot tracks alike.
He is manners around the house are great. A very easy keeper.
He has been under hundreds of coon by himself.
He has fathered one litter of pups and I've got only good reports of them.
A little bit about the bloodline, a hard to please local veteran houndsman worked on for a few generations of breeding to put a well rounded hounds on the ground and this hound definitely shows the hard work and love that he put into his breeding. He goes back to Nailor, Hayes, Rank.
It's hard to put price on this hound. Please feel free to come and hunt him before the leaves come on.

This dog is in the thumb of Michigan where the coon are thick, if your in thin coon this dog is most likely not for you. I don't believe he has the range you'd be looking for in the thin spots
If you enjoy a easy handling hound who trees coon as they come, this one does it and more.
