R.I.P. Merle Haggard

Merle Haggard passed away today. He was 79 years old, with today also being his birthday. Loved his music and will miss the man.

The bad thing about losing those great singers is they are not being replenished with new ones. We aren't even getting good to fair singers now days. You've got two choices of music today, rap and crap, neither of which I listen to.

I dont even listen the radio anymore. Its like women took over. Its all sam hunt. Which iv seen 2 pictures of him. One he was wearin red skinny jeans wit a vanilla ice/ justin beber haircut. And the second was wearin a all pink suit. Like the half time show took over radio. Sad and pathetic.

Got to see him twice in Concert, he said at one of them that this New Country Music wasn't much and he didn't care for it....
He was one of my favorites and will Never be replaced.

My all-time favorite singer/musician! In his words "This new stuff don't have any substance." I play live country music and if it wasn't for Merle, I wouldn't have anything to play. Every once and a blue moon a good "Country" song will hit the charts but for the most part it’s all what I refer to as "Bubblegum Country". Back in the late 60s and early 70s they had Bubblegum Rock and it was short lived, I hope the same goes for this new crap! One thing for sure, all these young guns could benefit from the likes of Merle Haggard! His music will never die unlike all this new junk! RIP my friend.
