Pup training question

Have a 8 month old pup. He tears a cage coon up when it's on the ground but when I start pulling it up he lays off it a little and won't tree very much. Any ideas to get him to tree more? Also what age do you guys start hunting them alone? Thanks

I myself start hunting them alone from start to finish! 3 mts until I call them a coon dog! AND never ever do I /myself/ my wife/ my kids/ never ever show them cage coon/ drags! Just hunt them alone at nite after nite! it will make it! if it has the desire and the rite breeding to do so!!! I have said this same thing over and over and over!!! jmo
