Sounds like red mange.
If that's what it is, it's genetic and there's nothing you can do about it.

My opinion only. I had a beagle with red mange and used ivermextin injectableand cleared it up . Cant remember the dosage. If it os red mange jave her fixed it will pass on to pups. Best bet would be get her to a vet soon as you van. At least call one they may give you sone advice

No it isn't. And before you go treating it for red mange you at least owe it to the dog to at least have someone that is familiar enough to determine what the issue is before subjecting the dog to such harsh treatment.

I was worming it today anyways but i definately wont start any harsh dosing steps before i bite the bullet and go to the vet. One more question for input. What can i do to boost her immune system besides immune supplements

Nothing
Supplements are snake oil

That is it, if you feed a quality feed they are getting all they need.

I wont blame him. He had all vet checked with documentation and otherwise wouldnt have known. His female was a few months old when he got her i believe. Rite now im just looking to take care of the problem at hand.

It will say 1% Ivermectin injection on the bottle. If it is the generic it will say Noromectin 1% injection. Same thing.

Be hard to blame anybody. The beagle I had with it was also vet checked with a clean bill of health along with both parents.

If I'm not mistaken all dogs have the mite and it usually only affects the ones with a weaker immune system. Dont quote me on that because I'm not sure if I am remembering correctly. Nccatfisher seems to be knowedgeable on this he may be able to correct me if I am wrong

Thanks nccatfisher and the rest of you all for the info. Should i bath this dog daily while dosing her or keep up with the nustock?

Posted by McSquizzie on 04-03-2016 07:57 PM:

You should take her to the vet.

if it's mites...

If it's mites/mange I'm not 100% sure if you have to inject the ivermec. I believe all you have to do if use it as a topical treatment on the skin.

Bought 2 bluetick pups and had them delivered across the country that looked mangy when I got em and did it as a topical because they were 7 weeks old. Cleared up the same week I treaded them...

Take your pup to the vet.
Red mange is genetic and is different from sarcoptic mange which is parasitic.

If it is red mange, and you got the pup from where I suspect you did, the "breeder" is well aware that some of his dogs are carriers.
Any breeder worth their salt should offer you a refund or another pup that is out of non-carrier stock.

The dog needs to be seen by a professional, the symptoms identified and then you need to proceed from there. If the breeder has even an ounce of dignity he will either refund your money or at least replace the pup with another healthy one from different lineage.

Tree em i wouldnt assume anything. I know your trying to help me but the fella i got my dog from has two combo dogs that he owns and had an accidental breeding. He isnt a dog breeder. That being said what i have been reading for the last 3 days is that demodectic mange is still a parasite that most dogs carry but their immune system battles and overcomes it. Who is to say we all havnt owned a dog that carried it without knowing. Im asking for advice on how to treat it because i been laid off for a month and need to watch what i do money wise if possible. I appreciate everyones concern about the seller but im just concerned with MY pup.
