"Consistant Cast Winner"

Which dog is the "best", a big hunt winning dog or a consistant cast winning dog? Maybe a better way of putting it would be, "which dog do you prefer", a dog that wins big hunts or a dog that wins a whole lot of local hunts? Would you rather breed to a big hunt winning stud dog or a consistant cast winning stud dog? Would you rather buy a pup from, a big hunt winning female or a consistant cast winning female?

Lol. Richard, you won't do! You hit all four corners! Politically correct.

I was thiking about running for President until I saw the results of Allen's Poll. If I knew how I would change this to a "Poll".

A consistant cast winner can be a big hunt winner,,

The difference in my opinion between the 2 is Time and Money.

The consistant cast winners that win Big Hunts will be in more hunts with bigger entry fee's and DEEP POCKET's behind them..

Time An Money !!!!

Richard you should run for President,,,I think you would have a good chance to win when given our current choices.

I'd have to agree with you on time & money, it takes a lot of both to have a good dog regardless if you go to the big ones or not... Just about every dog I've seen mention on here has been to the same amount of big hunts & most have been to the same big hunts so i can't say the pour guy is out on that deal. Allen does save me from having to pour a lot of concrete at times though lol this week has reminded me why I don't like it hahaha

I will take a consistent cast winner who has been tested all over the country. If a dog can beat whatever you cut it with anywhere you cut it...it will eventually win some big hunts as long as its given the chance to be in them.

Tony, I have put many stacks of them 72's in my pocket on the local level against YOU over the years! It all adds up. If yall don't like local clubs quit going to them and see how long any kennel club lasts. The small clubs are the backbone of the business. Tony, if you handled Danno and Doc paid the bills, would he be a big hunt winner?

What about us small time handlers and dog owners that are just plugging along and trying to get by winning a cast here and there while y'all "big boys" just walk all over us?

I am going to have to go slap all my math teachers I had in school. They told me if you add up enough of those 72s they would come out to 1000s

One pro hunt years ago and I got beat by Hard Rock Cafe of Kenny Mason's. I won a $500 added before but don't consider that a big one. I also have never promoted a dog either though.

Blah, blah, blah, y'all aren't fooling me. You know exactly what a big hunt winner is as opposed to a consistant cast winner. (except for maybe Tony) Y'all just want to call your consistant cast winner a "big hunt winner" because they won several casts in some hunts that paid a lot of money. A consistant cast winner just wins their cast by barely beating the other dogs in their cast. A big hunt winner wins by running up a big score. But it seems that a whole lot of hunt formats have been changed to benefit the consistant cast winning type dog more so that the big score type dog. I wonder why that is? I guess that the people in charge maybe like consistant cast winning dogs more than big score dogs.
Even if you have the time and money to go to a lot of hunts, you still have to have a dog and handler that can win in them. Some people have the time. Some people have the money. Some people have the dog. Some people have the handler. It is a very rare combination to get all four together and it doesn't happen very often.

Posted by kasey dooly on 03-24-2016 11:05 PM:

Well good luck to you in the future. Danno has been entered in several larger events. We have never made the finals. Won tons of added purse hunts against World Champions. Was the only Redbone to get a CW at the Spring Super Stakes 3 years ago. Was also the only Redbone to get a CW At PKC Nationals a few years ago. But who cares, we all know there aren't many Redbones entered in most hunts, unless its an all Redbone hunt. What does that tell you about this breed? Either the breed as a whole is lacking dog power or the breed owners as a whole are lacking backbone! Ill let yall decide that. I know what it takes to win, I have owned several winners over the years, and I have a good one now. Best thing is, His Pups, they are already showing up in a few major events at a young age and I think there is more to come.

Richard were you that little kid that would hide behind a couch and slap people on the side of the head so they would think the person sitting beside them was doing it and get them in a fight, then just sit back there and giggle?

Naw, I don't hide. I am right out in the open. And y'all don't need any of my "help" to slap each other. I love a good discussion and I like to see the "my dog is better than your dog" posts. But I actually hate to see y'all fight.

(And by the way, my dog really is better than all of y'alls.)

Posted by Tony Dominguez on 03-24-2016 11:43 PM:

Danno has been a consistent cast winner & has won his fair share of cast at the big ones, Kasey has beat be & I've beat him... Lol that's going to happen when we lives as close as we do to each other, 72's eventually does add up to 1,000's but if I did it 72$ at a time my dog would be dead... I've got 1 club that's 40 miles, the rest are 85+... Now how many do all of you guys have local? Most of the hunts Doc has sent Cali to besides just a few pro hunts, most of these dogs have been at. She's never had a shot at open events until this year for the most part

My personal opinion don't mean much to most but until we stop comparing dogs in our breed to each other instead of working to compare our breed to the other breeds we'll probably never move ahead lol Cali & Allen both have blessed me a ton but I'm not going to be satisfied with her till reach our goal... That's 20,000 lifetime, if she don't get killed or something happens to her before I get it done then everyone can count on her getting it done... I wish all the redbone's the best, I'm not going to bash on 1 or another every time one wins it gets me excited, but jealousy is a heck of a curse in this breed

Oh you are talking about big UKC winners? Because in order to be a big $KC winner you have to be a consistent cast winner against the best dogs in the country. No points for finishing second in the cast in $KC. You have to win your casts to advance to the finals in Pro Hunts, World Hunts, Truck Hunts, and SS.

Danno, Crow, and Freak all had the same opportunity Cali did to win that Breed Challenge this year against the best of the other breeds. They didn't get past the first round, she did. Then went on to beat a big name National Champion in head to head round to get to the finals. These big hunts aren't just about having the money to get there, you better be packing some dog power.

Oh my goodness Tony, what a downer. Doc, you tell'em.
If someone gets "In the Final Four" at a hunt and they split, did they win it? Can you count it as "winning a big hunt"?
