Sorry to hear that "yadkintar" Robert . I had a dog I am absolutely positive would have been a household name about 20 years ago. She dissapeared from my pen and I quit for about 6-7 years knowing I'll never have her equal. Don't quit please. You still love the dogs and the sport. Tough pill to swallow I know but losses are part of this sport and life. YOU KNOW THAT MISTER. I'll gladly give you that pup that I pm'd you about. Its even got some of that yadkin tar stuff back there. Once again sorry hang in there buddy

One last thing all dog men and horse men know and good one can die in a padded room, one not worth spit,, can NOT be killed,, through in the middle of Houston rush hour traffic and it will cross 8 lanes without a scatch,,, great dog will find the only car with in 50 miles a 1:00AM..

yadkintar , i hate to hear that about your dog , like the old saying goes when you get bucked off you have to get back on , i have lost a few to the road and if you ever lose one it always a good one seems like , i had 2 here that never turned out like i wanted them to an i just let them run loose on the farm an them crazy dogs would stay in the road all the time an i mean ray charles would swerve to miss them and i can not remember the dogs that i have lost in one way or the other and both of those dogs died of old age at over 12 years old , it is hard to figure things out in life sometimes an i know if you lose a good dog its a hard pill to swallow ..

Been down that road!

So sorry to hear about this. Always read your posts even tho I don't really know you. But as an older coon hunter I do know what it is like to lose one in a split second. I don't strive to have the success with a dog like I used to but none the less when this happens to one that you know is special it is rough on a guy. I lost one couple years ago at 2 years old that was THE ONE and actually made me sick. Took some time with a couple good friends and got back on track. Just like you. I was given the opportunity from a friend to have my pick on a couple 4 month olds and I hesitated but took him up on it, I couldn't be more pleased. And this friend didn't want anything in return because he knew I would put my best into working a young dog. It sounds like you have built a great foundation of guys that are the RIGHT KIND as friends, and just like the dogs that you feel are the RIGHT KIND this is where you start over. Good luck my friend I know you will be telling us about the next good one on the end of your leash.

Sorry for your loss Yadkintar. I know how you feel, And I know what you mean on the "I wish I could take it back" stuff. Time is the only thing that makes it get easier. I hope you won't let this stop your enjoyment though.

Sorry Robert that hurts for sure, and its sucks, but don't let it put the fire out, you dont know what's around the corner.

LOSS of a Hound

So sorry to hear this and I know how you feel. Mine cut himself open on something last night and was treed when I took him off tree I noticed his Intestines were hanging out. He underwent emergency surgery last night and I'm hoping he will be OK. We never know when we cut them what the night will bring. Hoping another pup steals your heart and keeps you in the woods.

It's been a tough year for dog losses. I've had multiple friends loose dogs to cars and other accidents, I was even in the woods with one of them when his dog was hit by a car. It makes me think twice more and more every time I cut mine loose. Hang in there Yadkin there's another good one out there for you and Steve Bankston I hope that one of yours turns out to be OK.

Very Sorry to hear this!.

Robert as you know the coonhound world has a lot of good people in it. This is a prime example and it's speaks a lot good about you to have friends like this.

I guess at times like this you find out how many friends you do have. Sorry for your loss yadkintar. Always seems like the ones we got high hopes for are the ones that have somethin happen to them. Only thing you can do is get you another crazydog and go at it again
