hearing aids ??

Ok guys I need some help,I am realizing I'm no spring chicken any more . My hearing is marginal at best in fact 80% loss in right ear and 40% left ear. Last night I was hunting with some guys and was telling them I wasn't able to hear my male dog very well they thought I was nuts lol Well anyways I know my hearing is bad so what do you all recommend for hearing aids? My health ins doesn't cover hearing aids so im looking at more economical routes. Thanks mike

You can get some good ones but few cheap good ones.
have had hearing aids since 1985.
first one was miracle ear.. were not a bit better than the next ones I got from Mid-America hearing center at Mt Vernon MO..
then the next were Electone -- some better but still not great
Belltone--- you pay for a lot of clear blue sky. advertising fee, franchise fees etc. there is maybe 6 different manufacturers that make the components that all of the companys use.
Right now I have Wi-Dex aids and they are digital and programable.... some of the bells and whistles that can be purchased with them make them a bit easier to live with----- they have a device that plugs into the TV that lets me hear that "stuff" as good as I used too! But once it is off they still leave a bit to be desired. there is a device that hangs around my neck on a lanyard that is a bluetooth device that is especially great for phone calls.

the whole set up was about $5000.
NOT cheap by any means!
got any questions send me a PM

thank you for the help guys I may check out the wal mart type im not ready to go all in on the 5k ones just yet. I don't want to wear them all the time yet ( really prob should though ) once I get a set of some sort and decide if it is gonna work for me then may have to break down and get a good set . I am starting to regret all the years I took my body for granted. the motor still runs good but the chassis is starting to show some wear and tear lol

Hearing Aids in hunts

You will have to send in a doctors report to UKC that states your hearing loss and they will send you back a permit that you can show the clubs where you hunt and wear your hearing aids. I have had one for a couple of years, but no club has asked for it.
