Why is UKC not recognized by FCI

Maybe someone can answer this question why the UKC is not recognized by FCI registration? If I buy a dog and import it I can turn in my papers to the UKC and they register the dog for me but the FCI does not recognize the UKC. They recognize the AKC and it bothers me when a prospective buyer wants to buy a pup from me but because the FCI will not recognize the registration they back out. Typically in breeds like Jagdterriers, Laikas, and dogs like that. In the hound category the AKC recognizes them not all but some of the hound breeds (I am not and AKC fan) it just ticks me off because I know we have just as good jagds and Laikas and it hurts the gene pool especially Laikas.

Most of you it does not effect but even our cur and feist dogs would do very well hunting in those countries as well. They (Europe) love our hounds and have asked me on occasion to find some for hunting Russian Boar or lynx. Just venting I guess.
