Downriver Duke & Laurel River Dixie

I am just pleasure hunter, not into comps. I will be breeding the two dogs. Duke has been running and treeing coon since 5 months old, natural starting dog. One of the best tracking and treeing dogs I have ever owned. Dixie is one of loudest females I have heard and has three litters of pups out there that have been proving themselves from here say. Will be bred this week and if all goes well should have pups early April. If interested in a pup please send me a message or call at 616-277-8845. Performance and SS.

Duke

I've not hunted with Duke but I've talked to a few people about him. I'm not sure I've ever heard so much praise heaped onto one dog. And this is coming from people that don't own a hair on him. One guy told me that he hunted with Brian and Duke in a downpour. The guy said he took his female (one that he really likes) and Duke treed 3 coons that she couldn't even smell.

From what I can gather Duke has what our breed needs more of...NOSE and TRACKING ability. It also sounds like he was a natural... no training needed, just took him to the woods at an early age and he hunted, treed coons, caught coons, and was naturally straight. On top of that, they say he has a huge mouth and from the pictures it sure looks like he's a handsome rascal.

I'm going to link a post about Duke below. I encourage anyone who is interested in Duke to read through all of the responses. This was the post that caught my attention and got me to calling and asking questions about him. I've heard enough good things that my name is at the top of the list to book a pup. We have at our kennel three male dogs out of Dixie from 6 mos to 3 yrs old out of dollar one is a nt ch 2 firsts and a second with leaves off and another one 18 mos old with a first only been in one cast Dixie has several nt ch pups off of dollar and some pleasure dogs that can't be bought. From what I hear duke will complement her very well Dixie was a nice dog when I hunted her she was worth more as a puppy raiser she is super smart and loves people and nothing with breath has a better mouth than her she may have lost a little volume by now but is still louder than 90 percent of dogs out there would love to breed her to dollar one more time was gonna buy her back if this guy hadn't good luck with your pups. My 18 month out of her is as good as any young dog I have seen super loud get treed somewhere every time you drop him and he had treed 2 coons in the wild at 5 mos old.dixie also started early.

Dixie is a nice dog with a big mouth u would never know that was a female out there.Duke is 100% coondog i think will be a nice cross.Thanks for everyones calls and coments.

One of dixies pups 18 month old dollars midnight driver picked up another first last night been in two casts with the leaves off makes him two firsts he has yet to draw a minus he was split with a coon last night 180 yards from other dogs he is like his momma he will drown out what most people calls a loud dog

they will be loud pups duke and dixie have mouths thats for sure.

Don't want to be negative but I would have bred to Herman Bowling's Dollar dog again already proven three time cross cant get much better than that.

Not being smart but what do you expect to get out of your cross that the 3 proven crosses did not have.JMO.

He has a nice dog Carl I talked to him he wanted a nice female to breed to his dog super nice guy I put him on Dixie I think she will reproduce by his dog also I'm curious to see hope to have Dixie back here when he gets done with her. Best of luck with your cross on duke I know he is nice.
