how much truth in this statement

alot of bluetickers enjoy breeding dogs more than they enjoy hunting them and they do more homework looking at pedigress then they do in the woods

I think a lot of people breed 2 dogs cause 2 dogs can breed.I do a lot of pedigree study and I do put in a good deal of time hunting my stock.

Partially correct I think......

I believe they enjoy peddling puppies out of ole so and so that goes back to ole goodun, and queen and fancy, without having to hunt dogs just be puppy mills...............those lines that come to mind that are doing this are vaughn, vaughn-arkie, "old smokey river" Im sure Ill get crucified for my opinion, but there it is..........

To directly answer your question, there is tons of truth in your statement.

peddling pups is a pain in the a-- but putting them in the woods is the fun part. luckily i feel the bluetick breed does have some good responsible breeders that take a lot of pride in breeding healthy pups with less genetic faults and more natural ability.

Is there a message board these breeders use?

I don't know where you're getting the blue ticks you're hunting, but you've definitely got the wrong strains. I've been hunting Walkers for 50 years and like them, but lately I've been hunting with some blue ticks that will make any coon hunter stand up and take notice.

Got any young junk forsale over there perry? Blue junk in particular

Junk

Hard to sell blue junk. I know where there is a male out of Sally that is not getting hunted because he won't be with the other dogs. Imagine that. Cull for sure. Gonna get him back and get him started. He might be for sale after I get him to consistently treeing Coon. Tony walker is hunting a female off Sally that is doin alittle winning. She is a dead loner. I also have a male that is really coming on good. I think he will get your pic took. He will be hooked alone too.

got a dog one time, bred best ever. Sent the papers off and waited to get them back. Came home and heard them in the mailbox. They had a the biggest bawl ever, let them out of the mailbox and they treed 200 coons that night. The last time i took them out they got rained on, i tried to dry them off, but no luck. Got replacment papers from ukc, but like repete breeding the next ones wasnt as good. Ps the dog in this story never did do good. So my guess is keep those well bred papers dry.

Jmo

As someone mentioned earlier the bluetickers are too busy being stuck on a particular bloodline. I don't care about a particular bloodline I care about treeing coon. Best one I ever owned came from an accidental cross where a young male climbed his kennel to the females. My ol cricket dog was a coon treeing machine and I'm not talking about where coons were thick. Some of the toughest conditions and land around.

WHOA- Hold up a minute... Rance, are you telling me we are supposed to actually hunt these dogs in the real woods. My dog with a second place win is WAY too valuable to be putting it in danger.. Ol tree'em up is 7 years old and the way he hunts out so far ( about 150 yards), he may could get himself killed- or even worse.

No thank you, I can sit in the warm house, gaze lovingly at his pedigree, and tree 100 coon a night on the computer.

Ol' Tree'em Up at Stud for $500, except to Rance and Todd, then the stud fee is $600

Blue power

Casey you don't need to do any breeding with all that blue power. You need to share it man.

Perry, Ol tree Em up don't throw those cull pups that go off gallavanting by themselves... no sir, they stay packed up like beagles... like They are supposed to...

Hahaha... I just couldn't help myself, I usually stay away from stirring the pot.

On a serious note, I hunted w Rance n that Sally pup the other night... She seems to have all the tools...

Having fun

Everybody has what they like. Nothing wrong with that. Been told that loners couldn't win some of the Ukc hunts in areas don't understand that. Anyway that's a whole different can of worms so I won't go there. Just my style of dog that has been good in the big hunts.

Rance said he enjoyed hunting with you the other and bragged on your dogs. Thanks Casey Dot was my pick but didn't get a chance to be put in the woods due to me being gone to Ks. I think she will make it time will tell.
Good luck with your hounds and maybe we can go for a hunt sometimes.

It's much easier to brainstorm about pedigrees than putting your boots on night after night, loading a hound and walking to it multiple times. I'm not talking about treeing a coon and going home. However, who made me or anyone the judge of the coon hunting world. When coon hunting gets to where I can't enjoy the hounds trailing and treeing coon, I will quit. That's my reason for having hounds. Others have different reasons to own hounds and good reasons for their desires. Time has changed desires and enjoyments for me. I probably won't go outside the box looking for the new improved models when it comes to raising a litter of pups. I get tired of walking to hounds treed on coon while hunting the old unimproved models. I respect the efforts of others on different breeding programs and wish them lots of enjoyment and success.
