2014 chevy seats?

What is the deal? I bought a 2014 silverado couple months ago. Tryin to get behind the seats is rediculous. I pull the seat up all the way. Hit the lever and fold the seat up all the way. And i get a whole 6 to 8 inches to squeeze stuff between the seat and the side of the door to get behind the seat. I got to fight to get my rifle behind the seat. Love everything else. Well besides all u can find is automatics.
