I guess it matters where you live but I like the independent kind that likes to be lonely when put with another dog or with a pack of dogs, that can tree coon anywhere you put them, very consistent, takes off in a dead run, hustle and get treed with a coon quick kind of dog!!! So pretty much one that's accurate, has a lot of heart, is by themselves most of the time, & does things with no questions asked and in a reasonable time!!!
