Coons in Snares
I treed a coon that was previously in a snare the other night. This is the third one I've treed over the last few years. Every one I attempted to skin, the hide pulled in half where the snare was. Do they always do this? I believe this one was caught last year.
I treed one Ina snare just few nights ago coon had a lot of life left to him could of still put a wiping on a pup no name tag on snare right on edge of woods line well I got talking to some ppl and this is what I found out most ppl that are trapping coon for hides hardly ever use a snare and most likely it is land owners doing it for control this snare that this coon was in Id bet good money was done by landowner only for pest control I bet they didn't have .18 cents in the set up and needless to say snare was gone in about 10 mins of me being there cheap easy control is what it is
I bet that coon had been wearing that snare for a long time they usually don't affect skining, shot out a coon one time that had a collar this coon was full grown but its neck was maybe 2" dia. the hide came apart when pulled out
