tree climber

have one that gets scary high in trees and will be the death of her if not stopped , last night 30 feet high or better, marked the tree with garmin went to truck and 4 hours latter she come in alive this time much to my surprise, thought she would be dead this time or to the vet again , have tried trimming nails back going to try dog boots next , has anybody out their had a dog declawed and did it work to stop climbing ,

I have never owned one, but from what I hear it's really hard to break, sorry for the bad news. If I ever do have to break one, I would try to catch me a coon, put in a tree the dog can climb, and correct the dog with an E collar every time the dog would try to climb. You would have to be consistent in the correction over a matter of weeks. I would limit the amount of freedom I give the dog, until it can be proven trustworthy to behave properly. Bol

Tree climber

I had a male that would climb just about any tree he has ben way over 80 feet many times I E-collared him hard full power tell he hit the ground took 3 tree 4 nights hunted him 4 more years with no climbing every buddy going to say don't shock them on the tree it will reck them that's bull if they have any brains thay will know rite from wrong If u don't stop it she's going to fall and die good luck

Duds climbs terrible. He fell 25 ft at a hunt last summer. I have just came to the conclusion that it will kill him someday, and there is nothing I can do about it.

What is wierd is that he won't climb by himself, only with other dogs at the tree with him. He is the only one out of the litter that climbs.
