Finished Hoss to Gr Ch this evening. He won 5 out of 6 shows to earn his Gr Ch degree.

Took Hoss for a drop last night on the way there it came a blinding snow squall and dropped a inch and a half in about a hour. Cut him loose on a creek bottom and he was struck in about ten minutes worked the track up the creek and came treed about 350 from me. After sliding down the ridge to him he was on a huge den seen coon tracks and dog tracks coming into the tree. Hoss is a young dog with a lot of potential the future sure looks bright for ol Hobo and Hoss.

That tree with the leaves on it is that a sassafras tree grandma used to make tea out of the roots.

No, that's Mtn Laurel....

Sassafras leaves have three rounded fingers to them.

Yes sir that is mountain laurel and gets pretty nasty to get through and a coon that will go through a laurel thicket will trick some of the best coon dogs. We got sassafras here my uncle used to dig it and make tea. I wasn't a fan LOL
