Oh my goodness, I just saw on the news where the unemployment rate was all of the way down to 5% now. And the number of uninsured Americans has gone from 45% all of the way down to 5%. Is this because of Obama or in spite of Obama? With the economy a non-factor in the election next year, and ObamaCare a done deal, what will be the "hot" topics..... immigration, income tax reform, gun control, terrorists, education, abortion ???????

they are right about the 5% for around here the only thing is though they are just 5% working and got a job, everyone has just about had to move out of here or drive a long ways because of no work, the media can paint a nice picture the only thing is it don't work in the real world ..

For anyone that believes those stats I have some ocean front property in Mo I will sell them .
The unemployment numbers do not reflect those who are no longer looking for employment and are living off the public dole which also now thanks to obummer care includes free medicade/health insurance for every meth head and lazy person who chooses not to work . Throw in subsidized housing , heating assistance , ssi for the kids & food stamps why would they . With 40 some percent of the population receiving free benefits the latest #'s do not accurately reflect what is going on .

Mr Taylor and Mr and Mrs Cummings, I realize that everyone does not like the job that they have, but...do you know anyone that actually wants to work and doesn't have a job now? There are a lot of people that are unemployable. Kinda like that TV show, Undateable, there are a lot of people that will never get a date. And almost everyone thinks that they are not being paid enough or that they have to drive too far or that their job is too hard and sucks. I can honestly say that I don't know anyone that is truly looking for a job and can't find one. They may not like it and it may not be doing what they want to do but it is a job.

Mr. Lambert, I am presuming you are just in a joking mood. Let me tell you there are quite a few young men and women in my neighborhood 20 to 30yrs. old who never go to work and they also have kids though I don't know how many are married or even if they are there kids. But I can assure you they are healthy and are very much capable of going to work and working. They don't though because they don't want to. Why don't they, because why work if you don't need to and get everything handed to you. A conversation by one of them as we was talking he said man it would suck having to go to work and can't go out and have fun when ever you want. My response was no not really at least having a job gives me opportunity in improving life, what your doing is going nowhere and on a dead end street. He looked at me like he had been slapped silly and has never spoken to me since.
The 5% looks good but if the morals, ethics, mind and thought process was what it was 25 or 30 yrs. ago that unemployment rate would be +15%. My son said the other day when I get ready for college the debt will be 20 trillion $ and when I get out of college there will be nothing left but a debt that I will pay for the rest of my life.
So again I hope you was joking because if you wasn't then your just plain dumb.

i hope you are right and Richard Lambert was joking because if he was not joking he has his head stuck in the BOMMER BUBBLE , i could send him a few thousand of these brown backs around here down to T.N. to go with what he has already and set back and watch the job count go down, you ever watch the movie KING PIN there is not that many men around here that want Randy Quaids job dancing on that pole like he did all though i would say that job is out there for the taking and a lot more like them , i guess i will set here and starve and watch this ball of wax go south to haiti , Obama makes Hoover look bad ..

I simply stated that anyone who wants to work can now get a job. "The Government" has concentrrated on making sure everyone who wants one has a job and helping the ones who could not find one for the last several years. Now I guess that they need to concentrate on doing something about the ones who don't want to work. What do y'all suggest? Maybe we should just cut off all aid and let them sink or swim. That would be my suggestion. I would love to hear The Donald's plan for them. I bet that it is a good one.

if so i guess it want take that much to impress you in the years to come ..

Our emperor sent out a memorandum to states giving them the ability to get waivers to change the work requirements to recieve welfare benefits put in place by PRWORA (Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconcilliation Act of 1996) this has all but dismantled workfare .
Yes, they could get some kind of a job if they choose . Unemployment % do not include those who choose not to work or seek employment . There are legitiment people who for this criteria retires , stay at home mothers , disabled etc, but many others who are not seeking employment because they no longer have to to recieve welfare benefits . The true unemployment numbers are not reflected in their current way of running the numbers . Our country cannot continue to support all these who have choose not to work it is unstustainable ! Last year our government spent more money than every person in the US's combined income . Spending also exceeded the GDP social programs are why many countries are about bankrupt check out Greece and Valenzuela . Would you want limits on your cash available to you or would like to be waiting in a food line for bread and powdered milk because the store shelves are empty I would suggest that you change you ideas on the non working . They get hungry they will work but as it is most spend more on a SNAP card at out expence than we would ever spend on our own groceries and many an get cash using the same card . Not to mention the free health care and benefits for those who are not even citizens . The whole subject gets under my skin .

How did this get to be a for or against Obama post? And I am not truly convinced that Obama had very much to do with improving the economy. I just wondered what the big concerns/questions would be for this election since the economy is doing so well now. I find it hard to believe that some people don't believe that the economy is doing very well now.

I am just saying that the unemployment #'s DO NOT reflect the true amount of unemployed people in this country and as a result of O's welfare policies many are no longer looking for work and if you have not been seeking employment even if you are an able bodied American you are not included in the % of unemployed . Click on the link I provided in my other post it is from the .gov website on how they come up with their figures compiled from the census bureau . When a nations government spending exceeds their gross GDP big trouble is on the horizon !

Relocated immigrants also get housing , cash , furniture , free medical , food assistance and job placement the companies that hire them get substidies from the government as an incintive for hiring them .

And now I see immigration reform as another issue. I know that The Donald has a plan to stem the tide of illegal immigrants entering the US. I have seen several plans that will convert the illegal aliens to legal aliens. But I haven't seen/heard a plan to get/keep them off of any government welfare programs. I assume that when they become legal that they will have to pay taxes but that will also qualify them for welfare programs. It is kinda like a Catch 22 situation. Apparantly there are no easy solutions.

You should all see immigration reform , those flooding the borders illegally with zero fear of being deported along with not bringing immigrants from the Middle East a number that o moved up to 80,000 additional and our major deficit and the interest rates kept at near zero to keep another bubble from busting major problems in the economy .
When nearly 50% of all here whether legal or not recieve free benefits from the government , a country has a problem . The Gross National Product and on how the cencus bureau figures unemployment rates are not political rhetoric they are facts you can easily look up .

And surely everyone sees welfare reform and immigration reform as huge problems. Now, if only someone would come up with a solution. I would hope that everyone would agree that cutting off all welfare would be a mistake and a deadly blow to the economy. The problem is who should get cut off and how do you throw out the bathwater without throwing out the baby?

I thought that all of the businessmen, bankers, federal reserve and economists argeed that short term low interest rates were a good thing.

I guess that is fine unless it is your baby. I guess that I am all wrapped up in my own world. That is the real world to me. I am pretty happy right now and don't really have any big problems. All of my extended family, friends and neighbors that want a job have one. I have enough to eat. My home and Jeep aren't much but they are paid for. Sat TV, cell phone, and electricity are my only bills. Gas is only $1.91/gallon. The only thing that I have to complain about is the loss of hunting areas to residential housing. I guess that I will just let y'all solve the world's problems.

and as for the price of gas it was $260 a gallon here a little over a month ago its $225 a gallon now and that goes to show what something is in one part of the country does not mean its like that every where else ..
i have been on this ball of wax for a good while and have seen the good with the bad and either you have been brain washed by the news media or you are young and have seen more of the bad ..
i can tell you when you take it as whole, gas, jobs , new construction , illegals , health care , manufacturing industry , is nothing close to what they put the numbers up on, they drop the price of gas 20 cents a gallon and raise the price of a quart of oil $ 2.00 more a quart, they open up 4 new retail stores and then outsource in the free trade 6 manufacturing industry to China and Mexico and when you shut down a company and 3000 people loose jobs and then build a retail store and hire 30 of those people back that is how they create a job and get those numbers and i can go on and on with this until we are both blue in the face and you can believe what you want though if you think everything is good and running smooth you are buying into their media propaganda ..
