Bow legged pup

A year or so ago I remember a thread about what to give a pup to straighten up the front legs but I can't find it today.
Anyone remember it or what to give one.

Rickets it sounds like and calcium pills hopefully will help straighten them up !!i think.when some get good high protein food with out the exercise to burn it off will contribute to them growing faster then there bones can mature !!!might be wrong but that's where I have seen it the most in pups that were fed good feed but never in the sunlight nor let run ??? Maybe has nothing to do with it ?? But the calcium pills should help it

I've had it happen a couple times, was successful once after trips to the vet (who was useless) on studying it myself. Anyhow, I used high quality ADULT fish based feed, not puppy chow. The puppy chow, I believed, was forcing his body to grow too quickly. I fed him the minimum suggested amount split up to twice a day instead of once. I also exercised him every chance I got, just walks in the woods or yard. I also gave him a good dose of cod liver oil once a day.

Within a week he was getting better, within 3 weeks he was perfect and has Been to this day, he is about to turn one.

Good luck, call if you want, 8282346871.

A high powered feed with little exercise and staying out of the sunlight all can cause it,drop the protein down but feed a good feed and give one table spoon of cod liver oil and one table spoon wheatgerm oil and one vitamin D/3 5000 iu, all one time a day and it will straighten him up.

Give your pup vitamin D.....Cod liver oil, 1 tablespoon, daily x 3 to 4 days, then 1 tab every 2 days. Ricketts is a vitamin D deficiency, not a calcium deficiency. However calcium cannot be absorbed into the bone without the presence of vit D. (This is also true for humans!)
You can purchase orange flavored cod liver oil at the drugstore and dogs/pups love it. If you raise puppies, always keep some on hand.
BTW...vit C deficiency is called scurvy...
