Packs of wild dogs

This evening we did a little scouting of a new hunting ground I have obtained from a lifelong friend. To my surprise we stumbled upon what we thought was a den of coyotes and believe it or not it was a group of feral dogs. I thank the heavens we didn't have any of our hounds with us tonight it could have been bad. There appears to be around 6 maybe more living in an den under a fallen oak tree.. When we got within 100 feet of their hideout they came out fiercely barking and growling there looked to be several carcasses laying by the entrance on their strongholdaily so they have been there for a while.
This property has much potential of being a great hunting ground all the signs of coons are there. I am wondering if anyone can give some input on dealing with or how to eliminate this possible trouble. The serve as an issue to people and my beloved coon hounds
Thanks...

If it was me i would get a road kill deer or some old meat and tie it down about 30 yards in front of the den and get a couple of buddies with repeating shotguns loaded with number 3 or 4 buckshot and wait until all or most of them start eating and unload on them and if any are left you can do it again in a day or two or trap the rest,if they are any yotes around and they start crossing then you will have a problem them coydogs are bad news they have no fear of man or nothing else for that matter and the ones ive seen through the years are more fierce than a yote, good luck.

Coydogs

Where I live at in western Ky I've hunted in a couple spots with coys, they fear nothing. They will come in on you, your hounds just like they are gonna kill you. I stay out of them areas now. They are feirce.

If you walked in on them already just go back with your rifles. No need to bait them if they are there.

The area I grew up in had wild dogs and they can really be bad{one reason I don't like to hunt when it rainy). Call county Animal control or take care of it yourself, just get rid of them as they multiply fast.

We fought them for over twenty years until one of my brothers sat over a bull carcass for several days and killed 17 wild dogs, finally breaking up the pack.

Wild dogs are the worst thing out there down here. You hardly see any anymore here but use to have lots of em. Last yr while in my deer stand. I had 5 come through feeding on peanuts. I waved my arms trying to scare em away. Well thst didnt work. They ran at me with what looked like the jaws of death to me. Got right under me raising Cain barking growling going crazy. I didnt need to ask nobody how to handle it. They dont fear humans! Best go back in there and do what you have to.

Yep there's only one way to deal with feral dogs. We've ran into a few and the warden told us to eliminate them if they were seen again. "Yes sir, problem solved."
