Splashing water out of bucket problem

I got a young female here at the house that empties her water bucket almost every day. She sticks her front paws in there like she's digging a hole and splashes all the water out. I've tried putting a lid with a hole cut in it on the bucket but she chewed it off and I tried only keeping it 1/4 full. Doesn't matter she will still splash the water out. A few whoopings slowed her down, but hasn't stopped it. She acts like she playing (9mo). I've even put bones and some chew toys in her kennel to give her something to do.

Any ideas????????

Sounds like she is bored. I have one when I don't hunt him he will play in it and dump every time until I take him. Then the next day he is fine. Lol

cattle tub

Find someone that has cattle and uses protein tubs get one there emtys get one of the smaller 100-125 plus pound tubs when empty they weigh about 5-10 lbs and hold 15 + galon water fill that up she won't empty that in day lol and she can chew on it wade in it and it should take her years to mess it up so it won't hold water I have used one for 6 yrs know it don't look as Perty as it once did but still holds same amount water and eysey to clean ... ... I had one that woud tip my bucket over even of I tied it to fence put this tub when full in there holds 15 -18 gal water and she can't tip it over and has sence quit trying it on smaller buckets when at hunting camp .. Yours will probly grow out of it to

being where you are from sounds like to me she is cooling her self off my Oz dog does the same thing when it gets real hot, all I do is snap it to the side of his kennel and fill it a couple times a day.

Hot

Had one that did the same thing. Vet said she was hot , trying to cool off. Installed fans in my kennel, she was fine after that. While the other dogs laid around in hot weather this one was always busy. If I stood on hot concrete all day a might want to splash around in some cool water myself.

i have a 2 year old female that would dump her water pan, then she would pounce on it with her front feet, barking and push it all over her kennel. I wired it to the side of the kennel and she would just rip it loose. I got a big rubbermaid bucket and wired that to the kennel, she will chew on it, dump it, but she is not barking at it and pounceing on it anymore.lol it didnt matter what time of year it was and she always has toys or bones to chew. I guesss every dog has its own issues just like people.

I didn't just go to town on her. I should have said scolded her because she ain't the kind that can take a whooping. And it was when I had just put water in and was standing there. As soon as I got done filling her bucket she went right over and started splashing it out. You bet I got onto her. And anyone that knows me well, knows my hounds get the best food, the best living conditions and a ton of attention. They are treated better than most hunting dogs I've seen. Our hounds are pets and family at this house.

That's what I thought too. She was just hot or playing so I bought her a small plastic kiddy pool. She plays and lays around in it, but still continues to splash the water out of her bucket. She doesn't intentionally splash water out of the pool or chew on it much though. I even tried switch buckets and that didn't help.

She has toys and bones in there. Just hates that water bucket for some reason. Dangest thing I've ever seen.

Put the bucket in a milk crate zip tied to the kennel, that will take care of your problem, it has worked only labs and hounds

I have a golden retriever that does the same thing. She is trying to splash water on herself to cool herself off. It can be aggravating, but really smart on the dogs part. Buy a bigger tub, I have a 40 cattle waterer that I put 10 gallons in and our golden loves it!!
