Pick up trucks
Wanting to get people opinions on what truck to buy. Im thinking about getting a new truck, but would like some input. Give the reasons you like yours and tell what you would like different.
Old style Toyota Tundra. Perfect size for a woods truck. 4.7. 240,000 on mine and all I've replaced is front brake pads. Find you a clean 2003 - 2005 for about $7,500 and you're good to go.

there is only one truck made, and its a home made one called FORD 150. Its not the world's best selling vehicle by mistake. I have owned Chevy and Toyota. neither one will give you the all around comfort and service that you get from a Ford. All this comes from a die hard Chevrolet man until I grew up and bought a real man's truck.

truck
I bought a new Ford F-150 , I should have stayed with Chevy ! it might be the model I bought but im not satisfied , just too much truck in tight spots , our woods roads are tight and the turnarounds are small so if I had it to do again id have bought a smaller ford or stayed with Chevy ..jmop ...my truck is the Extended cab, not the crew cab ..

3rd gen toyota pickup, 22re motor. How many trucks are there (although its not recommended) that you can run without a drop of oil? Theyre not very powerful no. But they'll go anywhere and they run forever. You dont have to look very hard on craigslist to fimd em for sale with 350000+ miles. They usually have problems, but still run and drive. The 2.7 motor in the tacomas is a good motor too, but they dont have quite the reputation as the 22re. Whatever motor it is you cant beat a toyota long as it aint a 3.4.

I have always been a Chevy guy but I'm not opposed to any brand. I've owned good and bad ford tucks. Never owned a dodge. Once had a small Toyota with the 22re.
As far as he remak on ford trucks. Yes they are the most sold but not if you compare gmc and Chevrolet together, since they are the same truck and on the same line.
I'm looking to get something either brand new or maybe up to 2 years old. I like the ram, Tacoma, and both Silverado and F150.
Keep it coming
Theyre the most sold cuz they have to replace the one they bought last year.

Has anybody seen the silverado commercial with the grizzly bear? For those that havent, theres a guy standing in a room with a cage in each corner. A voice comes over the loudspeaker and says the one on the left is made of aluminum, the one on the right is made of steel. Now Im gonna release a 900 pound grizzly bear in the room so you better choose quick. Guy chooses the steel one and they ask him why. He says cuz its steel, that bears not gettin in here....makes sense to me. Why would you wanna drive a drink can down the road?

That Toyota should be good. It is made out of the dog tags of the greatest American generation. Son of a world war 2 veteran.
Toyota has more us made parts than any other now days. Read up on it plus aint a truck on here follow me in my huntin yota. Unless its another toyota. Cant be done. I traded my tundra for a 4 door tacoma as my going off truck. I really like it BUT you cant pull a whole lot with it. It does get about 22mpg though and is pretty fast for a 6 cyl.

I have a 2011 Tundra and wouldn't trade it for anything except maybe another Tundra. It is the perfect work and hunting truck it has a 5.7 in it, and the crew max has enough room for anyone you want to take. Mine only has a 5.5 foot bed, so it isn't bad getting it turned around. It might get some scratches going through the brush because of its size, but I don't buy a truck to keep it on the highway so thats part of it. They also hold their book value very well.

Oh they hold their value alright. The old ones especially. If you got one, great. If you wanna buy one, theyre everywhere but youre gonna pay what its worth and not a peny less for sure.

The original poster said he wanted a new truck so that doesn't matter. It also depends on where you are I bought mine when I lived in ms from a dealer in Louisiana and since its 4wd I got it for 6 thousand under book value they had a 2wd the same year with more miles and we're asking a lot more for it. I wasn't even really looking for a truck but I couldn't pass it up

It gets around 20 or better on highway and 14 to 16 city and in the woods.. I don't think thats too bad for a 5.7. I have kids so I have to have a big truck if I could find a older Tacoma someone didn't want 10 grand for Id buy it for a hunting truck to save gas, but the tundra does fine. You just can't beat those old tacomas.

No it sure aint. Dads got a 06 taco with the 4.0 in it and it dont get much better than 18 or 19

But naw you cant beat the old ones. I like the 3rd gen pickups cuz theyre unstoppable but one thing about that 22re is they aint got no power. I like that 2.7 they put in the tacomas cuz its got a little more power, But would rather have one of the early tacos with lock in hubs if I was gonna have one.
