Unfortunately!
Sometimes it has more to do with a certain click of show handlers! Richard, I hate to break the bad news to you.... But I don't think your one of the "RIGHT HANDLERS" Now if you get a young popular handler, you might just get your picture taken again!!!!

I don't have to worry about my keys when I am in the front yard. I can remember when I was one of those young handlers but I don't think that I was ever very "popular". When I used to show dogs, there were only 3 or 4 big name handlers that won all of the national shows. Now there are a bunch of them and you never know who is going to win. You do need a young handler nowadays because there is so much work/time involved in training a bench show dog. In the old days you just showed up with whatever you had and put them up on a bench. Now they actually train the dogs to "show". And I believe that those clique handlers just know what the judges are looking for and are willing to put forth the effort to get their dogs ready. My daddy always used to say that, "the cream will rise to the top".

He will be 7 mos old when they have The Grand American in January. Maybe I can get one of those young handlers to show him there and see what happens.
Not enuff white to get out after dark but he sure is a purdy rascal in the daylite.
HOW CAN IT BE TOO MUCH IF IT MEETS UKC STANDARD

Mr. Lambert, That's a VERY good-looking youngster. Which one is it? Name? Pedigree? You have a number of real lookers. Good luck with him.
Richard
He's got way too much white on him for you !
That's the kind I like so just send him on up to me !
:-) :-)
Marv, he is hard to find/see in the dark, so I guess that I will have to make a field trial dog out of him. Mr Finch, that is L's Great Ball of Fire. Carlos, I already sent one good looker up to you. Have you ever put Bear up on a bench? I just sent Fire's littermate sister up to P Mike. I think that he has been working her on a bench. And I have heard a lot of people say, "that dog has too much white on him to ever win a major show". I have never seen a Redbone World Champion Bench Show dog with "any" white on them. Maybe I will go to Wal Mart and see if Clairol makes a dark red color.

That white shouldn't hold it back in my opinion, but I'm not a bench show fella. The biggest problem the pup might have is if he runs into a judge that takes the handler's hair into consideration... Lol

Jared, he had better be a real tree dog cause he sure won't win a bench show. At least you won't have any trouble seeing him at night.
Richard that Fire pup is mighty handsome. If you want to make a field trial dog of him, send him to me for awhile--there's more field trials in NY than anywhere else, and he can run loose in my fenced yard to get some speed on him.
And if you want to cover up that white, use henna. Its all natural and won't irritate his skin like Clairol. I know because when my hair went gray and I colored it up, I did my best to match my dogs. Henna comes in all shades of redbone! Even holds fast during a water race!
