No . And I will tell you why I think they shouldn't , that flag is a sign of history . 10 states didn't have Lincoln on there ballot , for them it was like they lived in another world than those in the north . The flag of the was designed when they sececed from the union something the US gov't refused to recognise . It was not just a sign of racism and slavery , it was a sign of a huge group of people who felt under-represented by the federal gov't who and they desided to seperate themselves from it for a variable of reasons . Some fought by force others by choice . The majority didn't own slaves and many didn't fight for anything to do with slavery . They fought for a freedom and way of life free from a US gov't that those in the north would never understand . So many died on both sides , it is a time in our nations past that should not be forgotten and those that fought under the Confederate flag should also be remembered .
I myself have to wonder what attitudes about the American flag will be 140 yrs from now . Times change quickly and attitudes do also as we are all coming to realize by current events . There are those in power right now who already see it as a sign of war and American exceptionalism that should not be and that our country was unjustly formed . I honestly believe that this same conversation concerning the good ol' red , white and blue , the war monuments that represent our past will take place in our country's future . Just something to think on before you go judging the stars n bars and asking for it to be removed .

NO! They should have already put the punk in front of a firing squad for what he did and buried him, not the flag. That is OUR HISTORY. When they make a Circus in the Media about what the sick, twisted, freak did to those innocent people in S.C. it only encourages other crazies to do something for the same kind of attention. The Confederate Flag is only one more step in coming to take our guns.

the confederate flag in just one form of free speech. it's an exspression of how someone feels and what they think. the government is taking a piece of that freedom away. every time they claim that a word is a hate word they believe they are justified in baring the use of that word. then all they have to do is redefine a word and they control everything you say. it's one more symbol, like the 10 commandments.

No! The media and the television stations are promoting all of this! Im fixing to fly a 3x5 Confederate flag on the highway. The flagpole will be about 30 ft tall. I have about 50 ancestors from Mississippi, Georgia, NC, and SC that fought for that flag! My great great grandfather fought and died for the Confederate flag! Its deeply imbedded in my history and is apart of us Southerners heritage! They'll never take it away!

i can understand people wanting the conf. flag removed from public property. the only flag that should be flown on public property is the US and state flag. anywhere else the private individual should be allowed to display any flag he wants, even a swastika or christian or isis flag. it is only a form of expression.

i personally have nothing against the flag in sc but i am not for it either. i am for the right to have it because more important than it all is a GOD GIVEN choice called FREEDOM PERIOD. AINT FOR GUNS EITHER BUT FOR RIGHT TO HAVE THEM .

Glad you aren't against the right to have them but if you AINT for em you may have gotten this forum mixed up with a different one . We all are intitled to a different look on things but out of the however many thousand that post on the Coondog forums you maybe the only one not for guns . Do you hunt , put food on the table and protect your family with a sling shot or bow and arrow ? Or do you leave the ability to feed and protect your family up to someone else .

how many are willing and able to take even one day off from work to do something patriotic? how many are will and able to donate $100.00 to support someone else doing something patriotic. i can tell you, it's, very, very few. to do anything significant people must be prepared to sacrifice a lot and most people are not.
