Givibg gatorade to dogs

How many people have tried giving gatorade to their dogs when it's really hot out?

you'll get 4,000,000,000 different opinions on this topic. Mine is i do everynow and then. i dilute it with water at 50/50 blend cuz gatorade has alot of sodium

I remember being on an RQE cast out of Wooster, OH when I was probably 16 or 17....

It was miserably hot, and the whole cast was just about spent heading into the last hour of hunt time.

I had an orange Powerade in my watter bottle holster that I offered to my male dog and he sucked just about the whole bottle down.

Don't know if it made a difference or not, but he drank it anyway lol

Dogs don't need to replace electrolytes like people. They don't sweat like us. They lose electrolytes, but at a much slower rate.

Water is still the best thing for heated dogs.

You will laugh but I carry water bottles in the cooler for my dog. They have bounce back or go dog mixed in with the water. You can teach a dog to drink from a bottle as you pout it slowly. Once I empty it I will refill it as we pass creeks.
You will be surprised to learn how many folks think its against the rules to give a dog a drink.

Gatorade is bad for dogs Google it
Bait your water an hr or 2 before hunting, and during hunts.
Rubbing acholol in there pits helps as well

Gatorade

Had a 9 month old pup to bout die one time from a reaction or a overdose of worm medicine and we put about 2 liters of blue Gatorade down him with a syringe and it brought him out of it and he lived. I really think he wouldn't have made it if we hadn't did that. JMO

One time my dad had a Doberman pup that was super dehydrated and the vet pumped a bunch of electrolytes under his skin through a iv and told us to give him a little Gatorade in his water, we thought he was gonna die. My grandma also snuck some holy water in there too lol he pulled through and is a beautiful dog

Worked with an army ranger once, he would drink room temp water before he would drink cold water. Said ure body didn have to regulate the temp of it so it helped u faster. May b same for dogs too. I dunno
