ya set here an look at all the posts an just wonder.. posts about records on every hunt a dog was in . an baseing something to breed to on how many hunts it won or lost... were did the lets go hunt the dog go too. an i no its gona b said. cant travel an what is the point in going to hunt with a dog to see how it hunts.. thats how its been done for alot of yrs. an it has worked... ukc gona charge 5 dollars to park at autum oaks.. ok big deal its 5 bucks... im going regardless.. but maybe they are doing it to hire somebody to take care of all the stupid stuff people want them to do. but then complain because they got put on hold or there papers took to long to get back to them.. if coonhunters would just coonhunt instead of think of new ways to find out what a dog does or how it hunts or what it throws. there b alot more wore out boots an lights then keyboards... jmo.. not trying to start a fight or nothing.. just throwing my opinion out there,,, have a good day

Why not go swimming in a sandbox ? Why do we not jump into a pool headfirst in the shallow end ? Why not deer hunt with a pocket knife ? Information is good . Knowledge is good. Facts are good. Just my opinions. We all got one.

Why are you so negative? Its just and idea, just a conversation, we all know it will never be available, But if one person reads the post and decides just maybe he should do a little more homework before he breeds, do you think that's a good thing? Kinda like two perfectly stacked dogs on the show bench, the judge starts from nose to tail adding and deleting points to make sure the best dog wins, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the laugh.lol By the way at one time I spent several months calling stud owners.I wanted to either hunt with the stud or his pups.Preferably the pups.Guess how many helped me.The answer is 0.I heard every excuss under the sun.So hunting with studs or pups isn't as easy as it sounds. For me researching these studs by hunt wins, the pups winning and word of mouth was all I had to go by.All that headache has kinda turned me away from the Walker breed. Its just too hard for me to find a good reproducing Walker stud that suits me.

With all the differences in opinions and disagreeing going on here on the forum, one would think people would like to hunt with a stud dog to form their own opinion LOL

I hunted with the stud I bred too so I knew what kinda dog he was. I was impressed when I saw him go so I bred my bitch to him, simple as that. I also did a ton of research before hand, studied the blood lines, studied other crosses people had done with similar blood lines then finally spoke to as many people as I could about the pups they had off the stud I wanted to breed to.

Pups are 9 months old and I really like the one I kept. He's put up great, he's smart, really loud and is colored great. I got what I wanted cause I did all these and took my time picking out a stud. Biggest thing people need to realize is just because a dog wins the world hunt does not mean they can reproduce. There's a lot of man made sh*t eaters people have trained to win at the hunts or they have a good handler to get a cast win. Next time you wanna breed to that big winner ask the owner how he won those hunts. What were his plus points? Did you have any minus? Was that the dogs fault or the handlers? How many first trees did you have? Did the dog slop out and win because another dog made a mistake or did he dominate the cast?

To me it's not what they've won but how they win it that makes a difference.

Gone

Regional hunting has made the Stud dogs what they are, I know that's not what a lot of people wanted to hear but its the truth, the kind of hounds that are being produced are made for the Coon hunt Competition, so if you are going to breed to these hounds that's what you are getting from them, They are good hounds in their element and will tree many coons if they are given the opportunity . so that being said the breeder is breeding the kind of hound that wins in hunts, I,e independent, pressure tree dogs , tight on track and loud in voices . most every walker dog that's winning anything is said to have these traits . I personally wouldn't breed to a hound I hadn't seen in the woods I don't care what he's won or what his daddy was or momma.
I am still hunting the same kind of hounds iv always hunted and ill keep on doing that until there not around any more .....

The guys I get a kick out of r the ones that run down titles, but when they get a pup the first thing they do is shove there papers in face and start pointing at the titled dogs.

That's strange so many people mention tight mouthed walkers. Most of the walkers I hunt against are automatic strike and run track wide open all night.Around here that's what we call a competition dog.I prefer a tight mouthed dog and the last 3 I've raised were wide open.Just my bad luck I guess.

That's how most of them are. 50% of what you read on hear is highly overstated and exaggerated especially when it comes to walkers. If you read the comments long enough you actually start believing the BS. IMO

That may be too low of a percentage most of what I see on the board is fiction or negativity.

I read it right the first time.Im not trying to argue just stating what I've seen. How bout them Mojo dogs? They have won all over the county and I ant seen a tight mouthed one yet.

Jackson87/Ray&Luie

That comment about things being exaggerated wasn't aimed at either of you or anybody in particular. I'm sorry if it was taken that way I can see now where it could have been. I went off on a tangent about how things get generalized concerning walkers and comp hunts.
As far as those Mojo dogs go I have a pup out of Mojo and he's sort of funny on track. You couldn't label him one way or the other. He can be as wide open as they come on some tracks then others you barely hear a peep out of him until he pops it up and it really doesn't seem to have much to do with how hot the track is.

When the kcs started lowering their standerds and changing the rules to cater to a certain select few and the hunting world became more about turning an easier profit with less effort shoot and the most important thing is missing the family atmosphere that I came up with people would start getting on the grounds early in the morning there was somthing going on all day !

im not being negative about it.. im just making a point.. there is less coonhunting an more research... watching a dog hunt an hunting with pups out of a dog tell you more then a piece of paper all day long.. how many moh want to do that much more paperwork to send a list of each dog handler cast an judge for each cast... i will garrentee none will... an ukc will b overloaded on info to put on records.. everybody complains now bout ukc.. with wrong info posted or a win not recorded.. whats gona happen when somebody hits wrong button an gives a win to a dog that didnt win cast. people gona start whinning.. makes no sence to me to make new rules an change rules to suit the dogs these days..hunt with dogs,, talk to people that have hunted with a dog. or own pups out of dog.. thats all im saying... my dogs aint perfect, they make mistakes. i dont need somebody judging my dog because he lost 5 hunts an won 5.. not all dogs win every night..

O wait Mojos a proven reproducer he's got to be! His owner is doing time for buying a cast win but I'm sure the dog was honest!!! Lmao

LOL the whole point of a public forum is to create a community of people with similar interests and ideas, to share information, ideas, network, research etc...

So let me get this right you come on to a forum, to share your complaint of to many hunters being online, mean while you are complaining about this online??? Then you expect us to take time out of your day, and read your post. Thanks for wasting my time!!

Dang fellas can't we all just get along. If a man wants a walker or a black and tan and so on who cares! I have excellent bloodline in my hounds but that don't mean they are going to be what there ancestors were. Everyone has a opinion and that's everyone's right. I don't care for a lot of breeds but I like what I like and if my dog is beat by a walker or whatever then it is what it is. I'll shake your hand or a pat on the back and say let's go find another coon IMO.
