Dog box flooring material
What do you put in the floor of your haul box for dog comfort? Was looking at the Dan's pads but can't drop the $100 right now. Was also thinking about the horse stable pads but not sure if they are any softer than what I have. I currently have the plastic type cardboard in there.
I put an edit in my post on your other thread recommending Stonecreek at the same time you replied about the $90 at Dan's "not sure if you caught that or not" those two store's are usually my 1st call on anything like that but to be honest with you I've been using cedar chips in my box and really like them. They make it smell good and are supposed to help with fleas and ticks. You can get a big bag of them for $9 - $10.
i put blankets, pillows and comforters and such that i get from the 2nd hand store. when it gets dirty i just shake it out and put it in the washer and reuse it. if it gets really messed up i throw it aaway a get more. i was putting it in the houses too until i got one dog that is compelled to shred it over the yard.

Cedar chips
I would watch using cedar chips and products like that. Quite often it will agitate the dogs eyes/noses. I'm not saying not to use it but if you try it haul the dog for a while and when you pull the dog out check for bloodshot eyes and other irritation.

I use pine shavings that I get from a local lumber store. These are made when they plane down boards for barn flooring and other things . They are not dusty like saw dust. I like them because my dog is always wet and muddy at the end of a hunt and by the time I get home he's not. They dry out quickly and are easy to replace. And free.

Menards ....they also carry fatigue matts u will have to cut those to fit $20-$30.
Seat cushions for outdoor patio furniture. I try to find the one with back and seat together. They are perfect size for full size boxes. Catch them on clearance for a few bucks.

it doesn't take much to go from your dog just surviving to being comfortable. when you care enough, it's more than the least you can do.

Matts
I use horse mat have them in both dog boxes, dog houses and the floor of my dog pens. Tough dogs don't chew easy to clean, don't hold moister makes dog box a little heavy but have been useing them for 3 years and they still look like the day I put them down. Good traction and don't think I will ever have to replace them
