National Championship Finals Play-By-Play
The Final Cast of the Purina National Championship was assembled and just left the fairgrounds. The guide, Dave Ellsworth, is taking them 20 minutes up the road for their 90 minute hunt.
As it turned out we had four double cast winners and the ones making up the Final Cast as follows:
GRNITECH 'PR' KY River Late Round Joker, 3M B&T, owned by Seth Wimpy of Morgantown, GA handled by Brandon Duncan
GRNITECH 'PR' Evil-Eye Ally Oop, 2M B&T, owned by Charles Lenard of Thompsonville, IL handled by Anthony King
GRNITECH GRCH 'PR' Main Street Ruby, 6F ENG, owned and handled by Asa Briggs of Morley, MI
CH GRNITECH Stoners Lightning Jack, 5M ENG, owned by Ronnie Stoner of Rock Port, MO handled by Jeremy Smyser
Cast should be on site soon. Stay tuned.

Thanks to Chance Bonner, who will be reporting to me from the woods tonight.
The Salem area had a few inches of rain throughout the past few days. The early round hunt was a good one with all casts coming back in with plus points. Several had some real dandies. We'll hope there's still a few running in this late round and make for an exciting hunt.
First report coming from Chance:
Cast has arrived at their first hunting site and are letting the dogs stretch and gear up for the hunt.
Cast is walking across a field to turn loose.
Gary Starns of Oklahoma and Harry Oumedian of Michigan are the two non-hunting judges.
Time in: 2:50 am.
And..... they're off!
Got a strike!
Ruby for 100.
Oop struck for 75.
Jack struck for 50. Jack is minused his strike. Judges say he struck wrong dog.
Joker now struck in for 50. Dogs are moving along on a good track and the cast is moving in their direction.
Jack struck for 25. All dogs are now struck in.
Tree Jack for 125! Ruby treed for 75.
Oop treed for 50.
Joker declared treed split for 125! All dogs treed and cast is on their way in.
By my calculations they have used around 10 minutes or less?
They have just arrived at the first tree. Oops.... a little issue at the tree. Handling dogs now. Chance says 13 minutes used when they arrived at the tree.
Ally Oop has been tagged "out" for foul play.
Cast is shining tree.
Tall tree with a lot of underbrush. Chance says it might be a tough one to shine.
Plus Jack and Ruby.
Ruby 175+
Jack 100+
Oop SCR
Cast is on the way to Joker's tree.
Cast has arrived at Joker's tree and now shining.
BTW - Ruby and Jack were leash locked and led to Joker's tree.
1 hour and 12 minutes remaining in the hunt.
No coon seen but is circled up. Dogs are being led a short distance away to be recast.
With 64 minutes remaining the three hounds are cut.
I have Ruby leading with 175+, Jack second with 100+ and Joker third with 0.
Chance says there's no babbling tonight. Just the wonderful sounds of frogs 'acroakin'.
Strike Ruby for 100!
Strike Jack! 75.
Strike Joker in for 50. All dogs are now struck in.
