Yeah I know another "what stud" post lol

What stud seems to be throwing pups that are lookin to get hooked on the wood? I mean just flat out tree minded fools. With at least decent accuracy/brains to be corrected if not accurate enough.

Check out one of the Mad Dog studs. they have been bred to look for a tree instead of looking for a track. It's in the Blood............Tim

Got a pup out Piazion X Boomer female that is very nice she's just 10months old an I been hunting her soio sense she was 6months old an treeing coon fairly consistent she is good tree dog that is accurate to boot I've had close to the same results out of the Boomer pups so my suggestion is Piazion or Boomer but go hunt with some pups out of what ever stud you chose an see if it's what you like

I agree, you can do a lot as long as you have tree power....

Too much tree power, on the other hand, has ruined some walker strains

I don't know everything, but you keep putting the emphasis on tree and you are going to end up with a bunch of lazy hunting, empty treeing dogs.

Some wouldn't admit it, but they are there already.

BEAVER CREEK BLUE JOHNNY REB.....Very balanced hound....Old timer taught me long ago....Hound can t tree um ACCURATELY if he can t TRACK um.....I can teach a poodle to tree.....Just my 2 cents worth.

I know very little about everything and all about nothing but I believe You have to balance it...

Everybody loves a hard tree dog... NOBODY likes walking to 15 slicks a night..

My 2 cents---> Treeing is bred in them, its more of an instinct than a learned behavior...

Tracking, while somewhat instinctive is more of a learned behavior... A dog learns how to track by experience... More nights in the woods= a better track dog...

EXAMPLE- I have had good young tree dogs that slicked a little more than they should. I think they were treeing on any tree w/ coon scent on it ( a lot of dens too), but w/ more nights in the woods, those hard slicking teedogs figured out how to work a track and became more and more accurate....

You can't really "teach" a dog to tree... They usually have it or they don't.

All the above are generalizations, and I know someone is going to post that they trained their beagle to tree a unicorn or a gerbil to tree a popcorn ball...or their ...HAHAHHA

As far as proven winners in the hunts, the Zero dog that Casey mentioned at stud has some of the most winning females of the breed. They also all threw pups that followed suit. As far as competition goes theres not many holes in Zeros pedigree. In my opinion he would be worth taking a look into.

Alright let's change it up some, what stud is throwing the TRACK DEMONS? Consistently throwing fast track dogs that is. Or if there is a male out there that hasn't had much chance to breed many females but is what i described himself.

Underwoods Blue Ruger!!!! My pup just turned a year and money won't buy him. Been treeing real live Coon since 5 months and doing nothing but getting better since good head on his shoulders and a natural well rounded jam up tree dog you can see videos of him under Rugers stud thread he's the Chief pup. He also has littermates doing as good or better than mine!!!!!

caseys dog will throw all grand top side and im sure Nice pups... lots of ace's pups have been absolute track drivers and tree accurately... they normally are not 100bpm treedogs but good steady treedogs... but TRACK DRIVERS... ITS ALL IN WHAT YOU WANT BUD. There are some nice blue dogs out there now and the selection is getting beter IMO
