Question for English Men and Women

I would appreciate some input. Any and all ideas welcome.

Some years ago I was the UEB&FA column writer for Full Cry. I asked for and received event results, pictures and stories, featured local folks with English dogs, etc. Tried to keep it informational, fun and all about the dogs and the folks that owned them. Loved to pass on the stories. I guess from my perspective I tried to write what I thought people would enjoy and not my opinion. I loved the History of the English Hound.

Del Hudson has asked me to be the column writer for American Cooner.

What I am asking for is what do you look for when you get your magazine no matter what it is. Your breed organization? Stud dog adds? Certain column writers?

Here is a list of topics I have considered for our column. Let me know what you think. What would you all like to read about?

* OFFICIAL UEB&FA BUSINES - Our officer info, English Days info, important dates, contact info

*EVENT RESULTS - English Sectional results, hunt, show, field trial, swim results for any event.

*LOCAL HAPPENINGS - Featuring pictures and info that people have sent in.

*KIDS KORNER - Feature our youth

*SPOTLIGHT - Pick a kennel, stud dog,or person and have a small write up each month.

*HISTORY - Pick a line or breed of dogs and talk about the History, etc. Tapp, Platte Valley, Lightfoot, Wildfire, Wilcox, etc.

*STORY TELLIN - Fun or interesting stories from readers.

*VET CORNER - Monthly tips concerning dog health, vaccines, wormers.

* CONTACT - My contact info to submit to submit stories and pictures.

Doug Thank You for taking on that job. I believe Del could not have asked for a better man to head up this project. Both You and Del are some of the cream of the crop of English enthusiasts

One thing I always enjoyed was the pics from the folks around the country, plus a little short story of a recent hunt this or these particular dogs and owners were on.

Thanks for the kind words, I too always enjoyed hearing the stories. It's been awhile since I wrote. Glad Holly is on the mend! We will get her story in the column! Take care Dave!

Sounds like you have the right ideas to me. My only request would be that after you submit the article to AC you post on the English board. I took the Cooner for years stopped some time back. Would still like to stay "in the know".

x2..this is what i like looking at also plus a kids corner.this is the first year i have not gotten the Cooner in about 7 years was even thinking about notsubscribing to bloodlines anymore.both have turned into the monthly treeing walker magazine. But if your definitely gonna talk English dogs let me know before you start so i can subscribe.
