Capitalism ? I don't think so!!!

More like corporate welfare to me. This is what you get when you have the fox guarding the hen house.

You should look at some of the African nations. Their leaders have realized the benefits of capitalism, and that capitalism and personal responsibility are truly the only methods that empower the poor.

Is it perfect? Not even close, but to date it offers those willing to work the best opportunities.

Home Depot CEO’s pay rises to $11.1 million (2013)

Home Depot Cashier - Hourly Salaries $9.85/hr.

Where does the Government (Cobb County taxpayers) paying companies to remodel buildings and hire employees fit into capitalism?

Why do the (GOP) scream and shout when the Government feeds the hungry and cloth the naked but it's OK to give out millions to millionaires?

Millionaires hire taxpayers.

Why in the hell do Republicans protect the Rich and scorn the working man? That's right bought elections. They are crazier than hell, passing ROW laws trying to brake unions. They have brainwashed America. They don't want you to have good pay with benefits. Wake up America and Obama is a joke. We deserve better from both sides!

My question to some on here is, What does a college education mean, for your earning potential? Go get the degree, get a good job, and get paid the going rate for what you went to college for. Cashiers, fast food workers, etc., etc, etc, didn't get a degree, probably at most, a high school education, and they earn the going rate for their experience! If you have no drive, or ambition, you can't spell cat, what the heck do you think you're earning potential is gonna be, the same as an executive? Go get an education, or learn a skilled trade, and quit complaining!!

Is the CEO of Home Depot worth 11.1 million a year?

Should someone work fulltime and still need food stamps (EBT) ?

According to a new report by the AFL-CIO, the average CEO at companies in the S&P 500 earned an average of $12.9 million dollars last year.

Back in 1980, CEOs made 42 times what the average worker earned.

Is this the capitalism you speak of?

Something is wrong with this picture.

dbpro56 do you make $11.1 million a year?

Amen I'm an electician(1 yr tech school), wife is a teacher (6yrs College) and I bring home more money. I'm not as educated and don't get paid for my education, I get paid for what I know how to do because I had the drive at a young age to learn all I could about my trade. It is to bad thet initiative and drive can't be taught.

The only reason there are min wage jobs is that there are people willing to work for those wages.
Also I don't understand, one guys wages are too much and ones not enough, well lets let gibbs set the wage and we all work for the same. That's how they do it in the communist countries.

PRIVATE SECTOR UNIONS ARE OK IN MY BOOK, PUBLIC SECTOR NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT.

FDR SAID IT BEST ABOUT PUBLIC SECTOR UNIONS ONE CAN NOT SERVE 2 MASTERS.

DO NOT GET WRAPPED AROUND THE AXLE ABOUT R AND D BOTH SIDES HAVE JUST HAS MANY RICH AND NEITHER WANT TO GIVE UP THEIR MILLIONS THEY WANT TO DESTROY THE MIDDLE CLASS,BY GIVING MONEY TAKEN FROM THE MIDDLE CLASS AND GIVE IT TO OTHERS IN ORDER TO SOLICIT VOTES TO KEEP THEM IN POWER IN ORDER TO CONTINUE GOVERNMENT FLEECING OF THE MIDDLE CLASS.

All one has to do is look at Detroit to see what happens when unions whether public or private get out of control especially when coupled with government/corporate greed and corruption.

And for the record I am pro-union in the private sector and anti-union in the public sector.

The way I look at its not the Unions braking Detroit, they were the ones that basically built it. Just look at Ford, they praise their Unions and did they take a bail out. NO. They went straight to their Unions and said hey can you guys work with us, we are in a bind and they did and now look at Ford. So many people want to point the blame at Union when things go wrong, their braking us up, making to much money, blah blah blah, when in general it's mis management of the companies. When you pay CEO,s over $10,000 million dollars a year on top of their benefits package and they bitch about paying an employee a descent wage you sir are a hipocrit if I spelled that right. The Republican party is making an attack on the working man and people are too brainwashed and drunk by the coolaid they are drinking to see it. After the Election I was excited and was hoping for some new light but NO the first thing they had on their mind was to attack the working people. Paybacks for all of the bought elections. Look at what they did in West Virginia by doing away with the prevailing wages. One of the Senators that Was for it said a prevailing wage tennis court cost them Twice as much to build because of the law. Well guess what Mr Senator you forgot to tell them that the price you got that was twice as cheap was priced from a company that was employed by ALL Mexicans that can't speak English and don't pay taxes. You guys see where I'm coming from? I'll agree that small businesses in the public sector have no place for a Union and if you are good to your employees and treat them well they wouldn't be no use for a Union but that just isn't the case.

Wisconsin will be a right to work state by Monday night, union will no longer be able to discriminate against workers.

Posted by stan on 03-08-2015 11:34 AM:

Discriminate. That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. The only thing Right to work means is the Right to work for less. Keep drinking the cool aid man. I've got my pension built up pretty good now thanks to Unions! Let me see what kind of pay and benefits these big time Republican businesses offer you after all of these laws goes in affect.

Stan the dems scream and holler the loudest trying to keep the border open allowing more illegal alien hispanics that in a nutshell will break the unions faster than any right to work laws. for 30 years them dems have been screaming that they where going to bring back the unions all they have done is bail out the bankcrupt ones. If they the dems really wanted to help the private sector unions they would repeal nafta and cafta but they will not because they are making just has much in bribes from big corporations and the drug cartels has many republicans.

Got my own pension, Its mine, all mine. I can access it at anytime. Its fully funded, I don't have to wait until I am certain age, I don't get it a little at a time and if I die tomorrow my wife or kids get it all, not half. I also didn't have to pay in for ten years before they felt compelled to give any of it back.
You will see now with Right to work, that the unions will have to give you full value for your retirement and health benefits if they want to maintain membership.
I will venture to say that you have no idea how much money your employers have put into your fund in your name, Where that money is at, What return on investment has been. Is that money yours or the unions?

Posted by JT_Gibbs on 03-09-2015 04:03 PM:

Stan, the numbers show you are right, RTW states workers bring home about $1,500 hundred less per year, not counting NO PENSION or COMPANY paid HEALTHCARE.

As, for Unions stealing someone's pension,
ERISA was enacted (1974) to protect the interests of employee benefit plan participants and their beneficiaries by:

Requiring the disclosure of financial and other information concerning the plan to beneficiaries;

Establishing standards of conduct for plan fiduciaries;

Providing for appropriate remedies and access to the federal courts.

Yes Ed, Stan can find out pretty quick where the money is and how much is being paid. As a matter of fact I am willing to bet he gets a statement every year telling him (I know I do) and according to what kind of pension he has, it's his, ALL HIS.

The numbers show (here in Georgia):

Median household income under Democrats leading the way in 2000 was $56,680.00

The GOP gained control in 2003 and since the median Georgia household income is $47,439.00 (2013)

These numbers tell the facts about who is looking out for the working-men and women of Georgia.

Posted by Stan Ferrell on 03-09-2015 05:20 PM:

Lets hear from him then.
how much does your employer pay in?
Who manages the fund?
do you have to be "vested"?
What I do know, is that after five years in local 464, they KEPT all of my employers contribution to my account, because I wasn't "vested". I call it "stealing".

Posted by stan on 03-09-2015 05:28 PM:

And if every state passes the RTW work law you will see a continuing trend of house holds with lower income. It's a sad day for American people that they have bought in to the Republican tyranny which is nothing but paid and played politics. I've heard several people say after the RTW laws pass say, yes freedom, we now have the right to choose. The only right they will have is the right to shut up and do what your told. You want a raise, insurance, retirement. Well hit the dang road cause Juan or Carlos who can barely speak English is ready to replace you. Good job America, sounds like you voted in the right people.

Posted by Stan Ferrell on 03-09-2015 05:45 PM:

If you have a retirement fund, it is yours, 401k, etc.
If you have a pension, its theirs, unions.

Posted by stan on 03-09-2015 05:48 PM:

Every Union is different but after I had 5 good years in I was "vested".I'm not going to big details. I've been in 15 years. Right now I could draw about $2500 a month, not counting SS. I Got $10,000 in a anuity fund but it would be alot more than than that but that what I use to pay for my 2-3 vacations I take a year with my family. I have about $3,000 on a demmy card that pays for the dentist and eye doctor and I also have about the best blue cross and Sheild package you can get. You know my work is seasonal. My pay scale varies around $34-$42 an hour depending on the benefits package . I have a skilled trade and I've busted my butt to get where I'm at and I'm not even 40 yet.

Would that be the same juan and carlos that the Democrats wanna give "amnesty" to? The unions made a big mistake when they started supporting only one political party. They now find themselves in bed with the very people taking their jobs.
Gibbs, you want to vote for progressive anti gun, tree huggin, gay rights, baby killin, anti constitution democrats because you think they are pro union, go ahead, if it makes you feel better.

Congratulations, you've done good. My point being that you will get that2500 If you retire at 65. what happens to that money if god forbid you die?

Posted by stan on 03-09-2015 06:51 PM:

The money goes to my spouse. I might retire if I'm 55 but I have to take a 3% cut for every year I retire early at 64 but I have not made up my mind. I can't still work 6 month's out of the year, make, $80 K and still have insurance and all the goodys. God Bless Unions.
