Ronnie Pinchback
Just wondering if anyone had any information on him or his dogs, i remember him having ads in i believe the 70's or early 80's. I think he was from Oklahoma he always had a few dogs at stud and they were all good looking rascals, just wondering if anyone knew of him or his dogs.
I love the old ads and our bluetick history, please feel free to add any old ads or
history regardless of the owner, breeder or dog!

Remember
Ronnie was from Marlow OK. done a lot of advertising in Full Cry in the early 80's
had one dog that won the Okla State hunt that was raised by Elmer Durfey of Logan OK.. 3 littermates that Elmer had were very good cooners-- Junior, Sleepy and Skeeter-
if that hound was anything like the rest of the dogs he had then he surely had some good ones.
If I get time and remember, I will try to look up some of those ads.
Don Cummings
found some
I found some of his ads in 80& 81 Full Cry's Given time I could scan them and post them if there is anything specific you would like to see, send me a PM or maybe e-mail copies.
That sounds good would love to see the old ads, he always had a lot of great pictures, any info on the dogs would be great, I don't recall all the dogs he had but I believe Thunder and Jeep were the main ones.

A walk down memory lane :D
Driftwoodblue, thank you for posting the pictures. I started coon hunting regularly in 1979, & subscribed to the Full Cry Magazine in early 1980. Believe it or not, those Sand Hills Kennel ads are what made me want to hunt Blueticks. I don't know what it was, but when I saw those pictures, I made up my mind I was gonna try to have a decent blue dog one day. My memory did not tie Ronny & Sand Hills Kennels together until you posted those old ads. One could say Ronny had a lasting effect on a 15 year old Yankee boy he had never met!
35 years later, I still have the affliction, but still working on the decent blue dog part! LOL
Thank you for sharing,
Vic

sure glad you enjoyed the posts.
I can relate to your thoughts there. In 1959 I got my first hound... just happened to be a bluetick.. pretty sorry looking too! I seen all those fine ads in the Mountain Music and Full Cry's from the Smokey River Kennels
the one that caught my eye was Smokey River Sampson.. What a looker!.
In about 62 I was hunting a lot with Don Williams-- he knew a fellow that was hunting Sampson for Warren--- Chuck ( cannot remember his last name--want to believe it was Brooks) I got to see him hunt twice. he was surely a tree dog. well that was what I thought a hound should look like.
My ol Doc dog sure did not look like much but could tree coon and once in a while a possum--- .LOL!usually that was after a couple of hours and not getting a strike-- by then the dogs were usually way out of hearing and we were pretty glad to have him tree a possum!
I to remember seeing his ads a young lad and dreaming of owning some honest to goodness bluetick hounds like the ones in the ad.
His ads always had great pictures and his dogs always caught my eye, would have given anything to own a dog like that when I was young, heck I still would like to own one like them,
Thank you for posting the ads sure does bring back a lot of memories. If you or anyone else has any ads from the past please post them another that always pulled me to the pages of full cry was the ad on Southern Blue Pride the 16,500 bluetick.
