It's Crazy!!!!!!
Coonhunting, compared to other sports, is a small pond. I don't understand why it is so important to some to be a big fish in a small pond. We need each other, and sure don't need to be tearing each other down. It makes no sense. I think it's crazy to tear someone else down, trying to make yourself look good.
It hurts when you hear of people, especially someone you thought was your friend, telling outright lies about you, and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Anyone can say whatever they please about anybody, and someone will believe it, and the truth has nothing to do with it.
I can't control what people say about me. All I can do, at best, is control my response. It takes two to quarrel, so any quarrelling or lying will be one-sided on my part. I'm glad that what people says about me or you does not define who we really are.

Crazy
You know Craig; this has been going on for as long as I remember. Don't know that it will ever change. When I was running a dog at stud you wouldn't believe the different questions I got from people who said so and so told them that my dog was this or that. Worse part was, they had never hunted with him. It's amazing how words get all twisted around the further they go. I don't know you from Adam but by reading your posts, I can make an assumption that you are a pretty straight up guy. On the other hand, some who don't want to see the good in people see it in a total different light? That's life, as bad as it is, we have to face it. It really hurts sometime but time heals everything. Hold your head up cause you know who you are and what you stand for, good luck with all your endeavors.

I wouldn't worry about it, and just keep loving Jesus! These hunting dogs and hunts are just a blessing He's given us.

No sir. I pretty much stay hid out in these hills. Arkansas and Oklahoma is the extent of my hunting. Too hard for me to get away from the farm. But my son is in the army stationed in Virginia. I plan on heading out that way this summer. I heard its really pretty over that way!

Quite a few! A lot more than we had back in the 70s and 80s. There's not as many die hard, hide hunting, coonhunters anymore either. How bout y'all? And what's the terrain like around there?
I've got a lot of relatives in that area. Its where my family settled when they got off the boat back in the early 1800s. Most of the cagles moved from NC and settled in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. After the civil war, my clan moved from Missisippi to Arkansas and Oklahoma.

I just remembered the man's name. It was Don Cagle. I think he actually lived in South Carolina. I don't know if he's still hunting or what, but I'm pretty sure that was his name.

A man, along with his family stopped by Friday, and they were from Minnesota. Their son is stationed in Norfolk, Va. They brought him a car, and made a few stops along the way. talking blue dogs. Very nice family, and I really enjoyed meeting them.

Mr. Edwards, I have always loved a blue dog, but this is one reason there aren't any tied at my house now. I have never seen so much bickering and back stabbing as there is in the bluetick breed. They will never get along. And since I have moved on to hunt two other breeds for the past 4 year I can tell you it is the bluetick men that are the problem. I see it every now and again in the two other breeds I'm hunting now but not nearly as much. Sad but true.
