Lost dog/ Update found!
I posted this in the redbone section, but I wanted to post this here also. My 11 year old son had his 2 year old redbone broke his lead and is missing. He is wearing a shock collar and a name plate collar with my name on it and a Phone number. Unfortunatley we just moved to this new house and the phone number is not good now. He answers to the name Jack and is a little skittish of strangers but is no kind of mean. We are in martin county Indiana if anybody is to find him please send me a PM or email.
Thanks,
Jason
A lot of dogs go missing and stay missing because people don't know where to look.
First, make sure you've checked your local shelter. You need to go there yourself--half the time they get the breeds of dogs wrong and if you ask if they have any redbones there over the phone, he may be there but they don't know he's a redbone.
Second, make sure your local animal control knows you're looking, even if he isn't licensed. You may have to license him to get him back, but they'd rather get a lost dog back home than impound them.
Third, make up posters and flyers and put them at the post office, at any bulletin boards in nearby stores, etc. Its best to use neon bright paper. Put them on phone poles near stop signs, where drivers have a better chance to read them, and give them to all the local vets' offices. People who take in stray dogs usually bring them into a vet to get checked out.
Look on local lost pet websites. There are a lot of these. Craigs List usually has a section for this kind of stuff. Most states have a site called "Lost Pets of _______" Google for that.
I'll share this with a rescue site that specializes in hounds.
Most importantly, keep looking!
And, when you get him back, update his collar and put a microchip in!

We have already called all the vet's and talked to all the nieghbors around and called a local coon hunters club. I think at this point we just keep looking and hoping he turns up. I appreciate all the help.
Thanks,
Jason
not being a smart a$$ but how far did you move and did you check at your old house by chance to see if he returned there?
A nice family about 5 miles away as the crow flies had him show up there last night. they called all the nieghbors and one of them contacted me. So all is well again. to answer the last question we moved about 150 miles from our last house, he is a good dog but I doubt he could make that trip.
Thank you for all the help.
Jason
