my mom had it done, she said it was the most painful thing in her life. Even more painful than when she broke her back. she also said she'd never do it again because the risk does not outweigh the benefit, her pain is still there, manageable but still there, and the nerves can grow back.

For the procedure, they cannot put you out either. You must be awake so that you can tell them if that's where the pain is and once the nerve is burnt, if your pain is gone.

Good luck, hope it works for you.

Bob, My wife has had it done a lot. They put you in a light drug . So you can tell them if they are on the right spot. She is sore for a day or two. But it helps her in the long run. Had her back broke 3 times. The nerves will grow back. Started out ever 6 months . Now its down to ever year and a half. It affects people in different ways. Good luck.

I had some burnt in my back two years ago and will have done again but so far have not needed it I have broken my back twice! Best relief I have had for pain in years. But every body's body is different. Had mine done at Boone Hospital Columbia,Mo.
