classic 70 ?

I have an old 70 g2. The lights on the chargers stay on red. When I put handheld and collar on they stay red. When they have been on charge a day or two they stay red. Is this correct. I haven't used this system in a few years. I may be getting confused with all my other chargers, but I was expecting a green light.
