Lost a GOOD one 1/10/15

UKC Gr.Nt.Ch. PKC CH Baby Stakes Champion Top 10 Futurity Oakwood's Emma passed away last Friday/ Saturday. Best I've raised and better them most ever hunt with, be hard to replace her!!!

THE TOUGH THING ABOUT THESE KIND OF LOSSES IS THE BOND OF SUCH A FRIENSHIP BETWEEN A MAN AND HIS DOG THAT HAS BEEN ENJOYED FOR SO LONG .GREAT HOUNDS ARE HARD TO REPLACE,GREAT HOUND'S THAT ARE LIKE FAMILY ARE EVEN TOUGHER.TRAVIS,YOU HAVE A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES WITH THIS FEMALE THAT WILL LAST YOU THE REST OF YOU'RE LIFETIME,TAKE CARE MY FRIEND.GOD BLESS.

Oakwoods Emma

I know when Emma was around 4 mon old Travis was worried to death she was going to be a tree monster as she would tree on a tree with you just leaning against it, she was just a natural. Emma was 1 of the most natural and most accurate hounds that ever drew a breath of air. I hope that you and Tom can find something that suits you as well as she did, we all know the good ones are hard to ever replace. RIP ole Girl..........

Thanks guys! It initially hit me, then I've just been kinda numb really, it's like she is still here. I think it will really sink in when I go hunting again for the first time, since she died, and when I don't here her open, locate, check the tree and roll back up I'm afraid that will be when it hits. I'd have to be REAL lucky to ever experience another like her from pup up! I wish all could experience one like her, it's unreal....I'd heard there was such-a-thing but didn't believe a lot of what I heard. They make'um boy's!!! RIP Emma!!!!!!!!!

Geez Travis just saw this post, man I am sorry bout Emma I know what it feels like. Oh you will think you hear her in the distance at times and a flood of emotions and memories come over you I know. You will see her again! Take care Trav!

Thanks a lot men! This is really gona be a set back for me, I've been lucky enough in the past 17 years to have had a COON DOG replacement when the previous one passed away, now I'm without. Would love to have one as good as the past 4 hounds I've been blessed with.....may never and will miss the #%&@^ outa them! Just gotta keep forging ahead I guess. Got a couple of 5 month olds outa Jack and Emma that I hope will keep it rollin......we'll see!
