Who is number 1 all time reproducer of english dogs?

Just curious of this seems like everytime u turn around its something different I've heard of a couple different ones over the last couple months such as wild time timber tiger and penny's Kentucky kojack does anyone kno forsure?

Now there are several ways you can interpret the top ten list. The CURRENT list is based on percentage by dividing the total number of champions into the total number of pups registered. The HISTORICAL list doesn't go by a percentage, but by the total number of champions sired.

Having said that, I do not see anyone un-seeding Rooster from the historical list. He has twice the number of champions compared to the next closest dog on the list. The only way we will have a new number one on the historical list in the future is when Rooster turns twenty-five and is removed from the list because of age.

The CURRENT list is different and changes all the time. Dogs are removed from the list when they turn twelve or if they do not produce a litter in two years. That was why Main Street Max disappeared from the Current list, only to be put back on the list a few months ago. Max went two years without producing a litter, but has recently bred a few females and had litters registered to reinstate his current status on the list.

If we calculated the CURRENT list like we do the HISTORICAL list, this is what your top ten would look like:

What I would like to see UKC do is produce an "all time" reproducers list maybe once a year where they made a list regardless of age. That way, the Kojack dog you mention along with Boyd's Little Joe, Junior and others would have a chance to be listed and compared to the hounds listed on the current and historical reproducers lists.

Mr. Wells I'd like to see a "All Time Historical" list too, Males & Females...come out with it each year in the English special issue.
Myself, I don't take much stock in dogs I've seen on the current list for 2yrs that have 101 pups on the ground and about the time their year is up they conveniently have 3 more pups to keep them there...Do they think they are really fooling anybody?

I'm sure they can produce a list with a simple push of a button in their database.

In bloodlines years ago 80's or 90's they did do a historical all time list by total produced not their percentage. I remember one of the all time hounds looked like he had 3 legs in his picture. So it would not be to hard to update that list. It was the first time I was ableto see long gone big name studs. I still love the build of bates cash.

just a side fact............Kojack was out of Kellers Mike. Bud Keller once told me he let any and all kinds of females.......every thing in heat, breed to Mike and there were coondogs in every litter. fox hounds, bird dogs, coon hounds, curs, collies, gyps in all shapes and sizes were covered by him. He said it was the greatest regret of his life to have allowed it.

most of you wouldn't even be able to keep up with a dog like Mike, he was well known for covering ground. miles and miles at a time in days LONG before tracking systems.

Bud told me he spent enough money on gas hunting FOR him to have paid for any dog alive at the time.

despite that he won almost every cast he was in, under several different handlers. It got to the point most GRNTCHs of the age would withdraw or not enter the hunt rather than face the disgrace of being beaten by him.

If I remember right the list I seen years back listed Bill Clark's, LightFoot Bruno as the all time highest reproducer. Anyone else remember this?
