Bad Spot on Neck

Had a bark collar on my hound for a couple days. Noticed the spot where it contacted his neck had a greasy feel to it and it smells bad. Immediately took the collar off but it's still like that 2 days later and really seems worse. Doesn't seem sore, can't see any rub spots or wounds to the flesh. Any ideas what is going on and/or how I should treat it? Thanks for the help, still pretty new at this.

I would never leave one on for days, they can cause a hot spot. Usually use one when I`m not home until they learn.

mix a 50/50 solutian of water and brown vinger see if that helps it

Sounds like a hot spot. I hound not to long ago to get what your dog has. Take him to the vet they will give ya a pill and a spray that will kill the infection real quick.

hot spot

VETERICYN spray cost around $25 a bottle worth every penny. it can be bought any most farm stores or any place that sells pet supplies. my dogs wont leave home without it.

The Vetericyn spray does work very well for those weird little spots dogs get. I steal it from the wife, she has horses. It works best if you first clean the spot real good with peroxide or rubbing alcohol then spray it down. If the spot persists I would also recommend shaving the hair back all around the spot so some air can get to it.

I love the stuff but every time I spray it on a spot I think about it being 99.97% water. I wonder how good it could be if it was 100% water. It does work.
