Do we split the dogs?

Man and Wife comes to hunt, they bring two registered dogs, one dog is in man's name one dog is in wife's name.
Do we split the dogs???????

Let me be more clear. One dog is registered in man's name., the other is registered in the wife's name. should the dogs be split?
