Mange. Take to vet to see which kind it is. Also could be food allergy.

It is mange

I had a dog this year with it it was in a pen with two other dogs and it took me weeks to get him over it and the other two never got it

M A N G E,,,I've had dogs together where 1 got the mange and 2 didn't,and they slept together

I could be several things and the pup needs to go to the vet to be sure. If it started around the head and face I would say that it is probably red mange.

If it is red mange then you can treat it but it will come back when the pup gets stressed. They grow out of it except in extreme cases. Its genetic passed on by the mother. If it does turn out to be red mange and the pup is a female don't ever breed it.

I figured the mange would itch them or make them dig a lot

If you figure it out let us know. I have major hair loss on the back of my head. Lol

I had one with red mange. Male dog. He never scratched his at all. My vet told me same as joey said. I got him at 8 months old. Was the 3rd owner in very short time. Said stress caused it to flair up. He mixed me up some vitamins and ivomec and I gave it daily for a while. Fixed him right up.

ivermectin for about a month, washing w/ a medicated shampoo (selsum blue works). there are medicated dips that will clear it up as well. pups get it while nursing and their immune system is not up to snuff and they cant fight it off. bodies get overwhelmed. stress will bring it out. or having a stressful beginning will cause it to show later.

just a plain ol staph infection . easy fix no need for a vet . just wash regularly with a good anti-bacterial soap .
it happens from time to time no matter how diligent you are with your dog care . it's just the staph bacteria [ that all beings have even humans ] gets out of balance with the good bacteria and causes the problem . no need to panic just give them a regular bathing and it will clear up .

Get a tube of nustock and cover all affected areas , or buy you a quart of motor oil and rub on areas , had a pup few years back get a spot if mange and motor oil took care of it within a few weeks hair was back to normal .
