250 to 300 for a well bred pup is very reasonable. Look at what other pure bred lap dogs sell for.

This is a fair price I agree. the difference is that if you buy a lap dog you are almost guarenteed to get what you paid for. The dog will eat, crap, and be a pet. If you buy a hound pup the chances of you getting what you want are 1000's to 1. Its a total gamble and a vast majority of the time a losing one.

When you consider that cost of a pup and the cost it takes to raise it to even a huntable hound buying a grown trained dog that you can see hunt before you buy it is far and away the route to go if you just want to coonhunt.

Just raised my first litter sold each pup for $150 but that was really cheap and I didn't make any major profit I didn't have a stud fee but food and shots was enough plus the up keep of the female before pups is worth that

Isn't that an oxymoron?

I just sold 19 pups for $200. Some people enjoy buying and training pups while others don't want to be bothered by them and don't mind to shell out the money for a broke dog. Different strokes for different folks...

A fair price for pups to me is $200.00 - $300.00.

Well said.. I think a fair price is $200 - $300 for a coonhound puppy coming from a good cross. I have raised litters of pups and realize that it cost a lot to be the breeder but in reality no matter how good the cross on paper they don't all make it or if they do tree coons don't quite messure up to what we want.

I raised my first litter ever earlier this year. Its costly and time consuming to do it right. I came to the conclusion quickly that im a coon hunter first and a breeder last lol i will never argue over the price of a pup again lol

I Agree

I think a UKC Registered PUP has to be the best deal around Cheap compared to the Pet breeds A well Bred Pup for Under $400.00 is a steal!

I just finished raising a litter from frozen semen with a lot of additional cost because of that. I probably could have gotten more for the pups, but I sold them for a lower price and basically picked who wound up getting them. With UKC's Performance and the PKC Super Stakes programs, I want hunters to have them that will give them a chance to be successful.

I know everyone on here has seen some of these $1,000 and up puppies back online for sale because the buyer winds up not hunting the dog. Myself, I don't want anyone like that winding up with one of my pups.

Anybody can buy a started dog. IMO , there ain't nothing like takin a pup bonding with it all its life and gettin it goin and it ends up makin a COONDOG. there ain't no better feeling when ya c that switch flip over in a young dogs head of one you've been working with yourself. Yes some make it and some don't and boy its easy to get down in tha dumps messin with young dogs but reward from ones hardwork is a great feelin.
For a proven repeat cross I'd pay 400-500 .
